Did they mistake the NZF salary budget for Ricki Herberts salary?

Wow. That would be surprising.

But then the Guardian isn't exactly a rag.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

unless he was on one hell of a qualification bonus?  They did say that the coaching staff were on a different bonus scale to the players...

It surely can't be true

But also, how good a wicket is Capello on?  It's a part time job!

I guess if you took into account his base salary, his other income, and his qualification bonus (assuming he gets something similar to the top paid players) then he might get close to that. But it would be including income from other sources.

Suspect it's same with Capello. Surely the FA aren't paying him a GBP6m salary?

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Not actually from the Guardian either JD. From Marca, which is something more akin to The Sun.

well that makes more sense.  I still don't see how he could get anywhere near 2m!  And if he is he's bloody well overpaid!

I do think that capello is actually on a salary of 5m though

Imagine getting more than the most powerful man on earth for a part time job managing a national team.

Bloody hell.

They've put 3 or 4 coaches at exactly the same point, which smacks of poor research (or lack of information available).

Unless he got a good bonus for qualifying NZ to the Cup, I can't see his high wage either.

Most A-League coaches would be on $A200,000 average I'd say. I remember Farina was on about $A180,000 before we got Hiddink.

Not sure whaqt NZF pays Ricki as national coach, but wouldn't be more than (say) $NZ250,000 per annum surely, as a base wage?

Verbeek would be on $A1.5M I'd say.

It's more likely that that is NZ dollars and they haven't converted it at all.

Its no longer a problem.

I find that very hard to believe. He's full time coach for the Nix but part-time coach for the AWs.

200000 AUD =112,038 GBP on the A-league salary.

Even if he is getting the same pay as AWs Coach thats only a total of 224,000 GBP. You be still looking for over 500,000 GBP outside his normal salary pay.

The rest of the world has no idea about Australasian football.

I'm fully expecting Ricki's book for me under our Christmas tree this Christmas too

every little bit helps...maybe they were expecting a huge Christmas sellout to come up with that salary?

Improving,,on the up, a work in progress from Italiano and the Nix. Bring on the bathroom bling in '24! COYN!

I have just finished it, excellent read. Glad to see New Zealand are in good hands with Herbert and Turner.

No way is Herbert getting 739,000 pounds....thats a laugh!  Thats nearly $NZ1.6 million....ha ha ha! someones pulling your tit!!!!  What, they played 8 qualifiers in oceania plus 2 against Bahrain plus 3 at the WC....total of 13 games....which works out $123,000 a game....ha ha ha!!!!

$1.6 million is probably more than the whole budget for the AW's WC campaign. You know its crap when you see other managesr of top 10 WC teams such as Dominich from France only getting 400,000 pounds.

Ricki might be on 73,000 pound.....$158,000 NZD....remember its only a part time job

Is right. Madridistas to the f**king death. Although comparison to The S*n is harsh. Nothing is like that filth.
