You have to be joking that Otago are going to play home games at Sunnyvale, no stand, terrible changing rooms, they won't even be able to charge a gate taking. Absolute joke. Such a letdown from Carisbrook, best ground in league to worst ground.

Have Otago signed any players yet, there has been nothing reported anywhere down here. Still plenty of time before the season starts I suppose like a whole 5 weeks.

Otagofan - Hasn't the park been recently upgraded or something? It might be better suited now, but you'd know better than me. I just can't get over the idea of Otago playing at Sunnyvale Trailer Park (gotta love Trailer Park Boys)

I wish that was the case but that upgrade involves the bar,the gym and the squashy courts on;y.

Why has it moved from Carisbrook and what's wrong with Tainui Park or New Caledonia? Is this some sort of a joke or what? Sunnyvale park in Green Island is like in the middle of nowhere.

Maybe Otago United could get a sponsor for the Hire of carisbrook , on second thoughts that wont happen cos Otago United Dont have any sponsors , they rely totally on pokie money to support their club , A two member board cant do everything for the game down here , Chids does a good job for the resourses he has but doesnt have the support from other members , There are too many people just wanting a title in the club without doing anything for it , Names that come to mind are Chris Button, Wilson James , In fact Soccersouth coundnt run a competition if it tried , I suggest it might be time for Football in Dunedin to go back to Soccer Otago ??

Carisbrook charge $1000 per game becuase it's completly owned by the rugby union and 500 spectators get lost in the 29,000 seater.

Tainui? I think you mean Tahuna. Tahuna has an old wooden stand completly inadaqute player facilites and no fan luxuires like toliets and kitchens.

Surely playing at carisbrook is better for players and spectators allround , not to mention 500 x $10 entry fee = $ 5000 per game x 11 home games = 55000 minus $ 11000 for ground rental = a return of $ 44000 , Im no genius but that seems like a good return for 6 months work

If you sign good players and play a good brand of football people will flock in their hundreds to support there team ,  cant see them flocking to Sunnyvale for god sake , this is a disgrace if this happens , You can just see the headlines in the ODT " Otago United Forced To Play At The Old Dunedin Tip As Money Is Tight"

Playing Otago games at the 'tip face' is a joke! There is no stand, the changing rooms are rubbish and the showers are just as bad!  They should play anywhere else..... ANYWHERE!  They must be able to erect some temporary stands somewhere other than Sunnyvale - No?  Here are the other options
- Tahuna Park (better surface, has a crap grandstand but at least it has one!)
- The Caledonain (Good surface, good chanigng fascilities, all round best choice)
- Carisbrook (Best surface, best ground but $$$)
- Grants Braes..... doesnt have much but at least it isnt a half hour drive from Dunedin!
- Infact anywhere else in Dunedin - Even at the Alambra Rugby field on the Uni campus would be a better decision - this would free up some cash.

5 matches are at Sunnyvale, 4 at Caledonian. Home ground for Rounds 3 and 17 to be confirmed. Could end up being 6 at TCG, 5 at Sunnyvale.

As a member of an Otago Football Association which shall remain nameless we were under the impression that all 11 home games were being played at the cale which is the home of Otago football. Sure the pitch could be atouch wider and those bloody shot putters mean one goal is a tad bumby but it has a great grandstand and a bar in which you can get a pie and a drink for $3.50. So "feedback" i agree with you the cale is the best option.

Also with the cale it is only about 100m from the Uni Oval Dunedin's test cricket ground so you just watch the first two hours of the cricket then stroll over to the footy then cruise back over and watch the rest of the cricket

But through more information through the aformentioned association the caledonion track is being relaid this summer so I do'nt know what effect thst would that would have.
