The fixtures were out by this time last year. Anyone seen the 2008/09 fixtures? Or know when they're being released?

Been looking at the NZFC website often. Still no sign of them.

I think that all the chairman are meeting in aucks today to discuss a bunch of things in the nzfc - one of them being the schedule

Someone sent me YoungHeart's fixture list. Don't know where they got it or if it's authentic.
Nov 8 vs Canterbury United away.

False. YoungHeart are playing all their home games on Saturday.

Unless of course you're referring to Team Welly.

I suspect this page may get a few hits throughout the next day or three, given it's the only site presently boasting the full NZFC draw for the coming season ...

Sourced from last night's All Whites match programme, in which there are a few misprints. :-(( But I've worked my way through them and ... you mean you're still reading this and haven't clicked on the link yet? :-))

Some kick-off times are still to be confirmed, but most are 3pm.

Cheers,

Nice wrk JR, just for the record i have heard Waikato arent playing at the Stadium @ $8000 a game was a little steep

It looks as though we will have two games on 18 Jan then - TW at home, then a quick dash to the Phoenix at home. Assuming this is accurate, that's surprising.

I was alarmed to note in the All Whites programme that Waikato were playing their home games at Westpac Stadium.

bad enough playing home games in Tauranga and Rotorua, but this is ridiculous.

Where is Westpac Stadium? How true is this?

Permalink Permalink

Is that Seddon Park (which use to be Trust Bank/Westpactrust/Westpac Park)

I've updated Wikipedia (read "wrote up the entire article" ) to include the printed schedule, despite the obvious misprints I've put it up there so it can just be corrected as more details emerge. JR - I haven't tried to factor in your corrections just yet as I can only do so much editing before I go nuts  I'll get around to it soonish hopefully.

I haven't put up the Waikato home ground change yet as I haven't seen anything official yet, just options (including Seddon Park - but would football really be allowed on the #1 cricket pitch during cricket season? Wouldn't happen at the Basin).

A return to Porritt Stadium perhaps? Remember seeing Kevin Keegan 11 playing there when I was a kid.

Remember being a ball boy for Wanderers there, and playing yoof football for Tramway Rovers... still have night mares about school Cross-Country runs there as well.

You might want to re-size Ivan there Riccardo.

I think some of the fixtures clash with OCL games so Auckland City may just replace Waitakere
in the draw on these dates and vice versa

Why 3 pm - is it to do with travel.
I would have thought that the later the better for crowds ?

How many NZFC grounds have lights? That may be part of the earlier kick-off reasoning. I remember a Team Welly match in the play-offs a couple of seasons back that went to penalties. It was quite dim by the end - would have been horrible for the keepers.

As for later being for better for the crowds with the Sunday games, 3pm should be fine time-wise. Saturdays could do with being later, light permitting.

Except that the NZFC page manages to avoid giving dates and times. Apart from the first round, where they are headed Grand Final in the box on the left.

And the Wikipedia page still shows round 3 and round 4 as taking place on the same dates.

Otago five games at Sunnyvale?!?! anyone whos being knows how much of a hole that is and it doesn't even have a stand. It is a good club ground max but to have NZFC would be like putting the nix on Newtown Park. It is going to be a disgrace to great NZFC grounds like Kiwitea and English Park

SiNZ - Dates and times are on the left side of the boxes. I'll make sure they match up with Wikipedia. I'll also fix the dates for round 3 and 4 (my bad! )

Otagofan - Hasn't the park been recently upgraded or something? It might be better suited now, but you'd know better than me. I just can't get over the idea of Otago playing at Sunnyvale Trailer Park (gotta love Trailer Park Boys)

Think I see whats happened now - click on Fixtures/Results, then press the green "GO" button next to "New Zealand Football Championship 2008-09" and that will bring up round 1.

It's changed. Now the Sporting Pulse fixture printout even works. Before that was generating a blank page. Perhaps someone from the NZFC was reading this thread!

According to the site, Team Wellington have a home game that kicks off at 4pm on the same day that the Phoenix have a home game with a 5pm kick-off - 18 Jan.

How dumb is that?

That better be rescheduled!

Hmm...maybe they should have it played at the Ring of Fire before ther Phoenix match. Double header, and a great trip for Green Frenzy

And they've moved both Team Welly v Auckland matches from the Sunday to the Saturday - including clashing the second one with the next Homegrown Festival.

Guts - just found out I'm missing the first match (TW vs Waitak). Got World Cup duty on that day.

Seems strange that they haven't thought of that. Great opportunity for a "Super Soccer Sunday!!!" I'd be up for both games.
