Yeah, that was my bad. Forgot they were showing that before the Nix since they had the set up for it.

Supercity derbies since 2013/14 season:

Waitak 1-4 ACFC

ACFC 2-0 Waitak

Waitak 1-0 ACFC

Waitak 0-4 ACFC

ACFC 4-1 Waitak

Waitak 0-1 ACFC

ACFC 1-0 Waitak

Waitak 0-2 ACFC

ACFC 5-1 Waitak

ACFC 4-0 Waitak

Waitak 0-4 ACFC

ACFC 5-1 Waitak

From 12 matches, ACFC have won 11 (36 goals) and Waitak only 1 (5 goals). This used to be the best match of the ASBP, Waitakere what have you become?

Auckland City have improved immensely over the years since Ramon has put his coaching style in, when one team improves and the other stagnates you expect that. The biggest improver since then has been Team Wellington. That game last Thursday is a good example. This is good for the league and hopefully other teams strive to keep improving and the quality of the league can keep lifting.

When did Dawkins leave and Bult take over ?

Might be quite a correlation.

Love him or hate him , Dawkins was successful.

And he kept Krishna and De Vries happy there.

Sorry but that was absolutely fudgeing rat shark football last night. ACFC played backwards so often it was not funny.

He is successful but he is killing the game in NZ with this millions of Spaniards and dull style of football.

Jeff you could also say that Waitakere isn't good enough to beat ACFC, if they can't retain possession and create enough chances then ACFC deserve all the plaudits.

Its all excuses to me, other teams need to improve and be prepared alot better to take on ACFC.

I prefer this style to the old lump it forward.

whose smart idea was it to have this weekend's live ASBP game clashing with the Nix game? Talk about cannibalising your market.

Also Canterbury are not able to get flight home til Monday! Can only happen in New Zealand footlball

Join the club CU just like Southern United with away games needing a stay over.

Solve this by only playing late games in big cities.

It's a no win situation for a club like Southern. Either timeslot for TV will require an overnight stay.

NZF give them TV games in those timeslots > People complain because of player unavailibilty cause of work etc.

NZF recognise this and don't give them TV games in those timeslots > People complain because they don't get a fairshare of TV games.

I'd be okay with Southern not being on TV very often, personally ;)

I have to say that was an excellent piece of officiating from Chris Kerr in the WaiBOP vs Canterbury game when the Canty keeper went down injured.

Was calm and wasn't rushed into getting the game back on, treated the injury seriously and even helped the keeper get his gloves off and sprayed a bit of blood off his shirt with some water - great compassion shown for the situation.

The goals were quality though in build-up and execution.

Two enjoyable televised games last week with 11 goals scored, some of them amongst the best goals of the season.

Killkolly, De Jong (the assist from Chang and Clapham) and Messenger - oh, yeah !!!

Roll on Canterbury United v Auckland City on Sunday at 4.30 pm English Park - also live on Sky.

I enjoy going to the games in Christchurch (easily the biggest crowds in the ASB this season: approx. 500 to 800) and watching the same game when I record it off Sky (if it's a good one). Two different experiences.

Great game so far.  Eventful first half.  3 goals for Team Welly bia Ben Harris, 1 for Waitak (og courtesy of Cole Peverley) and Waitak missed a penalty (hit right post).

How has Harris not been given a shot with the Phoenix?

Some observations on last nights game

1. Crowd almost non existent - Waitakere don't really have any following ?

2. TW looked very good at times but really should have killed off what is a poor Waitak side

3. TW looked to run out of steam a bit late on ? Given that they would be looking to peak in about eight weeks perhaps thats not surprising. The front three really do press quite strongly.

4. Harris seems to know  the way to goal. Hope his injury wasn't serious. He looked to pull up a bit.

5. The player market in Auckland will be interesting next season with 3 teams. Can't think of too many Auckland based players that are not already playing Nat league. A few playing outside auckland - Messenger , De Jong , Feneridis. The "superstars" from the all conquering Eastern Suburbs side have looked a bit ordinary at the next level up.

Lies. It's because he's English and the Phoenix never sign English players. Certainly not in the last few weeks.

I went to todays game and sat in the stand. I have to respect the 248 crew cause they were outstanding so big ups to you lads for the atmosphere created and it was all about your own players to. Respect.

On the flip side, the 1st half of football was fudgeing unwatchable. Please tell me how kicking the ball 40 y to the other keeper is attractive. Please tell me how kicking throw in to touch is attractive. Please tell me how going back towards your keeper from a corner is attractive. Please tell me how national league footballers can't even get the school boy stuff right in letting the ball go out of the box before you touch it. 3 times!

ACFC were much better in the 2nd half with 10 men cause they then had to play forward rather than for safety. Ryan de Vries was easily the best player on the park and his goals today... wow. He has to be an automatic for Hudson. He was absolute class and I think if Merrick wants pace and skill from a guy that can play wider and central, he could do no worse at looking at him. Right age, nationality and form. Class.

I have liked Mark Jones this year but today, he reverted to a whinging bitch that he used to be seasons past. WaiBOP in general were a bunch of moaners and found it funny that they whinged about everything that was not going there way when they conceded 3 goals against 10 men. They looked worthy against 10 men for 5 mins and then simply stopped playing and whinged about ACFC and the referee and what they were not getting. Just poor discipline and clueless defending - against 10 men.

100 percent agree with you Jeff. I am glad you said it first. If Watson can score in the A league - de vries can too.

Does anyone know the game is on tonight ?

Nothing in the herald - think there might have been something on Radio Sport this morning.

does NZF have a communications dept ?

Be interesting to see what crowd is at NHS tonight.
