The Auckland City FC Annual Awards evening was held last Saturday 16 May at Alexandra Park's "Top of the Park".
250 guests gathered to honour the players and team management who were successful in claiming a unique "treble" for the club over the 2008/09 season: Oceania Champions League, New Zealand Football Championship and National Youth League titles.
Dennis Katsanos from Sky Television hosted the event superbly and excellent live entertainment was provided by the "Mighty Groovediggers" www.groovediggers.co.nz

Another highlight of the evening was the special audio/visual tribute that was made to Auckland City's "Originals" - the eight players who still remain with the club since it played it's first match back in 2004: Ross Nicholson, Greg Uhlmann, Liam Mulrooney, James Pritchett, Riki van Steeden, Chad Coombes, Paul Urlovic and Grant Young. These players have now won 4 NZFC titles and 2 O-Leagues over the last 5 years with Auckland City. Nicholson and Uhlmann now have a total 6 national league titles to their names, making them the all-time individual leaders in NZ football history.
