Don't think McNeil has shown enough yet, he's saved two penalties, but he hasn't really pulled off any remarkable saves from memory - WaiBOP tend to play excellent defence for long spells, before slipping up totally and conceding a very easy chance which McNeil has no hope of saving. So the jury is still out for mine.

People tend to overlook the effect the goalkeepers can have on their defenders, particularly in a league with so few top-class players with the ability to do something sublime. You say that WaiBOP play excellent defence for long spells with individual errors costing them so it could be that McNeil is an excellent organiser. I've always believed that an excellent goalkeeper can snuff out chances before they become chances by communicating well and being organised. Often the most underrated goalkeepers are those who are unspectacular and people tend not to recognise the effect a communicative and organised goalkeeper can have on the way a team defends

this applies even down to the situation where a keeper positions a defender to cut off the more difficult half of the goal, so the striker only sees the easy half and the keeper ends up making what appears to the untrained eye to be a routine save

also, ever seen a keeper dive before a close range shot is made?  at a decent level this generally means that the keeper has positioned his defenders well and in a split second been able to decipher the most likely area of danger prior to the striker making contact with the ball

the finer arts of our game are often hidden from plain view all over the pitch - positioning, body shape, anticipation, etc are often difficult to notice.

i remember watching steve sumner completely own a national league game once.  when i got home and watched the highlights on tele, he was anonymous.
