So Sam Burfoot is having a trial at the Phoenix, if I read it right. Does this mean another ACFC player (after Reira), developed by the club, is potentially being poached? If so, does ACFC receive compensation for all the effort and resources put into Sam's development? If not, why not? Likewise Waitakere should be compensated for developing Krishna?
It's one thing having the ASBP as a feeder system for the Phoenix, but it shouldn't be without compensation being paid for player development. I gather most ASBP player contracts have an opt out clause if the Phoenix come calling. You can't blame the player for taking the professional contract, but it shouldn't be a free pass.
isn't that the purpose of transfer fees?
The whole notion that one club/academy develops people is nonsense. Many people/caoches develop a player. all the way back to U6s
