When I was at an Auckland City game the other week I think they must have managed about 70 minutes without a repeated chant.
Crap football and crap officiating.
Referee was appaling and it didnt help that either team could work out what his call were going to be.
Makes for an interesting rest of the season.
Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Ref and his lino were a disgrace. You'd think they'd get proper officials in for a game worth $1 million.
Three for me, and two for them.
Sadly you'd be surprised HN, the amount of people who stood up and cheered when Pearce scored and the final whistle went. Didn't hear a peep out of them during the game though.

Reminds me of Uni-Mount vs Melville in the Chatham Cup final...

Waitak sat back after that and just soaked up a lot of pressure and City should have scored but squandered some chances - Grant Young in particular missed a chance he would normally bury.
Waitak played with a back 3 - interesting formation they play with. It looks like a 3-4-3 with the two wide strikers stopping channel passes so most passes end up on the heads of Emblen, Hay and Perry. Tactically they seem to have it all over City but City have better players they just dont seem to have a plan to break down Waitak's defence . . . surely that has to change.
Totori, Pearce (apart from the goal), Kopricvic and Menapi struggled to break down City's back four but from what I could see most of that was because the two midfield 4's cancelled each other out and very few quality passes were successful. It looks to me that if you close down city's midfield passing game then they struggle to penetrate even with Youngy.
Neither side can be happy with how they played but Waitak must be happy they won - fair result would have been a draw in reality.

Up to your usual high standard ted, well done.
Was the above example of being a f**kwit beacuse you actually think that ACFC are a better team than the Phoenix, or are you dragging us down your usual "Australian team, blah, blah, Australian League, blah, don't take our gravy of us" line?

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Quality post ted, well done.If you actually read what I posted:
1. I referred to be being a f**kwit mainly due to the abusive language in your original post. No need.
2. I didn't state that, at any time, ACFC had played against the Wellington Phoenix
3. I, at no time, have stated an opinion on who are the better side so, therefore, your entire premise for calling me names is invalid as it is based on comments which I have not actually made.
4. Chill out ted. Had a bad day?
Edited to reflect that the post which prompted this response has effectively been deleted. Jag2008-02-22 12:01:25

Yeah, but that is a little unfair on the other Auckland supporters here like Buffon, Daikiwi and PROAK...
