Can Kiwitea St even hold 2600 people?
yes just, very similar size to Davey F but has a stand and more room around the whole pitch as its flat and not built into a bank like DaveyF

Before the Sky TV deal came along the GF was played at the home ground of the highest placed team, but since Sky came along it has always been locked in for QBE

Chatham Cup is always penciled in for QBE, but it will get moved if it makes sense ie playing it in Palmy when it was Napier v Wairarapa or Christchurch when it was Cashmere Tech v Waitak and Coastal Spirit v Glenfield Rovers in the NWKO cup
I doubt it.

I always laugh when I see attendance figures, they are always horribly bent.

I remember once doing a rough head count at the ground when it was pretty full. The "official" attendance that day was around 1500. My rough head count only just hit 800.

No way Kiwitea holds more than 1000 people - the facilities (all three toilet bowls!) wouldn't have a chance of handling it.

Also to the contrary regarding QBE, yes the pitch sucks but it is a much better 'arena' and much easier to get to and park at than Eden Park or Trusts.

No it's not. Eden park's got the best transport links for stadiums in Auckland. There's a train station next door, regular bus services to Kingsland, along Sandringham/Dominion Rd, if you don't park inside, people hire out their driveways or there are plenty of side streets to park on. Shark, even the airport bus stops close by (Dom Rd).

I went to all U20 WC games at QBE, there was no parking at the stadium, parking was at the uni or further away, buses were only from town and the northern clogged up because it couldn't handle the extra people. It took 2hrs instead of 30-45mins to get home.

Entry a few years ago when City played a Fijian team in the O-League was restricted to 3,500.

Respectively I disagree. I also went to all the U20 games and parked for free within 15 minute walk to each game and left within 15 minutes as well. Just required a tiny bit of forward thinking and not expecting to be able to turn up right on kick off.

The Eden Park traffic management and public transport may be handy when an event is on but that's because events at Eden Park are a big deal. You won't get the special trains, parking management, etc, for the 2000 people who turn up to the NZFC final. Just overpriced parking.

Will be a big loss to cCty, but Tade's been a good servant.  Real shame we won't be able to get any money for him.

Jeremy Brockie's former club? Is this just shonkey reporting or is this story made up? Do we have an alternative source?

Yeah that quote is bizarre - here's another sauce from late March.

Well technically they have both played for Team Wellington - although I don't think that's what the writer was meaning!

Good on him. Always thought Emi had it in him to be a professional at some level of the game - quite stunned to read he's already 30 years old, so that's probably the best chance he'll ever get (after a single spell in the lower leagues in Argentina IIRC).  Hopefully he has 3-4 successful years in SA.

And Chris Maguire too. Holy crap. I saw him score an utter screamer for Portsmouth against Southampton once.

Wooooowwww

Lol, no sorry - turns out someone cut and pasted a similar pre-season announcement from a pro club and forgot to cut that line.

I'd love to cap Tavano to be honest, or even bring him in to the Phoenix. Little late for Riera obviously

Anyone know who the Spanish striker is?

Hopefully Fabrizio will be serving a lengthy ban after the brawl at Manukau United.

Albert is now 35 and showed his age a few weeks ago at Central.
