Italian free agent Fabio Cannavaro has agreed to join Al-Ahli, according to a report in La Stampa.

The 36-year-old will reportedly pen a two-year contract with the Emirati side, a deal which will see him earn 1 million a season plus bonuses which could amount to as much as 5m.

Cannavaro, who missed his chance to extend his stay with Juventus, had attracted interest from Serie A sides but has reportedly preferred to take on a new challenge abroad.

New Al-Ahli chairman Abdullah Saeed Al Naboodah is eager to invest big in the club and he hopes the Italian's arrival will attract more quality names as the Red Knights try to secure the services of Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp.

Hands off!!

Harry Redknapp at age 63, will never go away from the EPL or especially when Tottenham Hotspurs has his best managerial record as well as being in UEFA Champions League for next season.

He's not going to jet set around Asia trying to get a ACL title while he is the next closest chance for England to get a homegrown manager for their national team.
