Missed the game today but Dragon's won 3 - 0 over Hawkes Bays with all the goals in the ten minutes spell before the break with goals to Hoyle, Nicklaw and Oglivie
Back to back wins jumps us up to 4th place going into the Christmas break - first time in three years that Dragon's have not conceded goals in two games on the bounce.

Yes somewhat suprising as Auckland City normally setting the standard on and off the park - adds a bit of spice for the upcoming away fixture for the Dragons vs Tasman in the next round.
Sad news coming out of the recent passing of Eileen Langridge QSM - Eileen was a tireless worker for football in the region and the South Island and spent countless years of service on the former Canterbury Football Association and admin duties for Canterbury United when the Dragon's were first established.
Also a life member CFA, NZFA as well at both the Western AFC and Christchurch Technical clubs and served as president of the Mainland Football Federation for 5 years. RIP Eileen

What has happened with 'The Press' with their write ups pre game day? Looks like they have pulled the plug?
Sadly Fairfax media (The Press/Nelson Mail etc.) has stepped away from reporting local sports and cutting it from their online sites and also removing local sports reporters, instead focusing on International and National relevant stories. Sad, yes.
That's pretty criminal, who would have thought the local media would no longer report on local sport?All about cutting costs and mazimising profits.
One more reason not to buy the Press. Fairfax do themselves no favours

Cutting local reporting is all about decreasing costs and employing fewer staff.
Traditional newspaper jobs like proofreading have gone by the wayside too - the Press is appalling for bad grammar and basic mistakes these days. I just read the Eileen Langridge tribute online - full of mistakes...seems not to have been proofread.
Sports Editor of the Press Tony Smith must be pained to see local football coverage reduced since he's primarily a football man (his second favourite sport is softball). It certainly wouldn't be his decision - i'm sure that he'd rather increase football coverage if he had his own way in an ideal world.
Better Fairfax though than News Corp, the other Aussie newspaper monoply who charge for access to all their online sites.
Even with Fairfax, in Australia you have to pay for full access to the Sydney Morning Herald online. (limited content available for free).

A real "people person", she took the time to chat to anyone and made you feel welcome.
One of the most legendary NZ football administrators of all time.
Eileen was working 30 hour weeks as administrator at Woolston / Cashmere Technical in her 90's.
Most of her administrative work over the years was unpaid.

Yes Eileen ceretainly devoted plenty of time to football and was well respected around the country and few would be her equal around the running of the game and the rules for football governance in pre the Federation era.
In recent years when not able to get out and about was still interested in what was going on and she asked me to ring her the results from the MPL and Chatham Cup.
I have a few good stories and great memories of Eileen and she will be sadly missed.

Yes he is a good keeper. Very good with ball at his feet and playing out from the back. Very good shot stopper and good size for a keeper. Just untested at that level which can make it hard to know fully.

According to tranfermarkt.com Pendrigh has never played in Sweden, he came to the Dragons from US college soccer (Drake Bulldogs) and had been at various US college sides since he left the Dragons youth team in 2012. According to transfermarkt James did spend six months at a Finnish lower league club Ekenas in 2014 in between college stints.

Dragons looked okay in previous seasons against Auckland but today they were miles off! Hopefully the boys get on a role over the next five games to make play offs. How did Terris not play? The dragons really needed experience today! Still believe the dragons will comfortably make the top four it’s how they push on from here that’s important! and once they get there it’s all about toppling Auckland & Team Wellington it would be good to see Christchurch on top of the footballing map in NZ

I have a feeling we're now having this discussion in multiple platforms...
Not sure if he ever played any minutes there or if that's where he's going now - but it certainly seems he was at Stode IF prior to arriving in Christchurch.
Was based on him being said to have come from Sweden when he joined the Dragons + the Drake tweet + his Twitter bio, where he claims to have been #25.
Guess he saw the chance to play a bit of football in the offseason - maybe he wasn't sure of getting a visa or a deal in the new year too?
Edit: Seems Stode are a fifth-tier club in Sweden, hence why they might not be found on transfermarkt/soccerway.
