When is Cole Tinkler going to get a game for Wellington? Since he
use to play for Auckland under Roger Wilkinson last year will he
still be using the 'benchmarks' and the 'running ins' - I wonder if
the wellington players will understand what they mean...

I believe his 4 week international stand-down finishes just before
the Waitakere game on Dec 23rd. Hopefully we will see him then.

Hopefully we will. Words going round in Wellington creating a buzz
not to unlike the apperance of Beckham, is that Tinkler may not be
alone on his arrival. Ross McKenzie former team mate of Tinkler
could be snapped up in the near future. Which could be a huge coup
for the title challenging Team Wellington.

You must have missed Ross last year then. Did bugger all at
Auckland and about the same at Waikato. You've got Daniel Ellensohn
who is a good young striker and the other Barbarouses. Stick with
them.

I suspect slinger5, with the very Singaporean logo of the Breakers
rivals is 'close' to Ross and Cole.
The co-incidence is a little much otherwise.

Ill think youl find the only logo that worked with my name was the
basketball team? Not all of us can have block 5 logos.

both very average performers last year and a long way off cracking the Auckland starting lineup to be honest.

Yeah, but sometimes in Auckland selection can be more about who you
are related to than who is worth playing time.

lol thats so true nicholson is a good player not just average
and tinkler will do a job in any team he is picked!!

Auckland with Roger Wilkinson = Sam Wilkinson, Stu Watene, Cole Tinkler and Ross Mckenzie starting
Auckland without Roger Wilkinson = Sam, Stu, Cole, Ross....who? The question you would ask is where are they now, and how has Auckland coped without them and their new teams prospered with them.....

From what I have heard Tinkler is set to make his debut on the 23rd
against Waitakere. I wish I could be down there too see the young
man play. I have a funny feeling a certain Ricky Herbert will
be there to keep an eye on his young All White, as he definitly
needs to shore up that leaky defence of his - maybe Tinkler could
be the answer? If Karl Dodd can get a game at center back then why
not get one of the young lads from our own country to get some
experience and play at the professional level....
Also to "playa" who is Nicholson?

hello. Perhaps to assist here, could somebody post a precis of how
Cole's career has progressed since going overseas? How did his team
do? Where did they finish? What position did Cole play? How
regularly? How many goals did his team concede? did he notch any
personal honours?
I have some great memories of Cole as a 16-year-old, but last
time i saw him in action (for Waikato) in the national league he
barely showed up.
Has he kicked on? I'd love to hear some facts on which
opinions could be based.

He played for Waitakere City, Knights and ACFC that I have seen. To
be fair to him, I haven't watched him specifically. He didn't stand
out at WC or ACFC so again its hard to say 'he is poor' or 'he is
great'
He has talent, but I think its more the one trick-pony variety talent that others opponents have figured out and probably why he hasn't featured or stood out from when he played for Waikato

Who converted him from the questionable long blonde hair dye job to the respectable hair he has now...and more importantly from a decent ball at his feet midfielder in to a defender ?

cole tinkler has been passed around the league more times than mark cossey has been to the tanning beds. the fact he cant stay in one place longer than 5 months makes me nervous for team wellington. he seems to be a bad seed. the rotton apple who ruins the whole bunch. all the teams he has played for have either disbanded and folded or would of got relegated if the league he played in was important enough to have a second division. dont hold your breath if you expect production from cole.

You speak like you were a team mate of his. Did he not pass you the
ball?

Tinklers not a bad player after Wilkinson left ACFC Tinkler was the
only
one of the four Waikato players mentioned that was kept on and went to CWC
and played a few games after that as well before going to Singapore
I'd have him back at ACFC he can play anywhere in back four will do well
at Wellington I think would'nt go near McKenzie though!!!
