Football Players join in Variety Bash · Yellow Fever Nga Wana Kowhai

Yesterday Auckland City FC players - club captain Ivan Vicelich, fellow All Whites international David Mulligan along with Spanish imports Manel Exposito and Angel Berlanga - joined forces with the Variety Club for their annual Variety Bash.

At the heart of Variety's fundraising efforts is the very unique Variety Bash - a mad-cap adventure full of eccentric vehicles, unusual characters and heart-felt philanthropy the Variety Bash travels hundreds of kilometres every year raising funds, distributing grants and telling the Variety story.

Not for the faint hearted, the Variety Bash brings together some very diverse personalities and activities in what has become one of New Zealand's best known and most widely recognised fundraising events. Full of strange challenges, practical jokes, warmth and camaraderie, the Bash is a unique experience everyone should do at least once.

The Bash is not a race, and the winner is not the one who crosses the line first, but instead the entrant seen having the most fun while fundraising for New Zealand children.

Committed Bashers come together each year to raise funds, distribute grants and bring a unique brand of sunshine to children across New Zealand. All funds raised in New Zealand stay in New Zealand to help sick, disadvantaged and disabled Kiwi kids and child-related organisations. This year the children of Christchurch will benefit from Varirty's efforts.
