What a cracking game between Auckland City and Team Wellington on Sunday in Auckland. It was full of good skills and attacking flair by two teams chock full of NZ players. The 3-1 scoreline to Auckland didn't reflect the overall game and Wellington looked bloody good. It was two amazing goals by Jason Hayne and Ki-Hyung Lee which tipped the balance. The game was a wonderful advertisement for the NZ Football Championship and full credit must go to Stu Jacob, his arm in bandages from the dog attack, who was there. It certainly deserved a bigger stage than the 800 who turned up, even though those there were certainly vocal in their enjoyment.
So next time Team Wellington are playing at Newton Park, get down to see Andy Barron and the boys. They're well worth it.

So 1-1 not counting goals by foreigners then?

I think four foreigners out of 27 players who got game time on both sides is a pretty good ration of NZers actually. Hayne's goal was amazing, pity Ricki wasn't there to see it.
Meanwhile only two NZers are likely to run out for the New Zealand A-League team tonight in Melbourne, maybe three.
Of course Glenn Moss is on the opposing bench.

There is a perfectly good Team Wellington thread, that acknowledges the clubs sponsors. If that's too much for you Blue Magic, then we might have to ban you from starting threads.
