Hiya evryone,

We are a bunch of hawkes bay blokes (who never miss a phoenix game by the way) who, last year started a supporters club at hawkes bay united. It consisted of about ten lads, who sat over at the wooden stand at park island who made a lot of noise at home games, and sometimes away games!! We have a few beers, chant, all good natured stuff just like at the phoenix hehe and basically have a laugh at the game. Most of us are english lol but dont judge us!! If anyone lives around the hawkes bay area or comes up here often and wants to get behind the team give me an email at tommy_banny@hotmail.com or check out http://www.bebo.com/Profile.jsp?MemberId=4418386071 (the supporters website!)

Last year we created a really good atmosphere at home games and it would be great to see a few more people over at the wooden stand and really make park island into a fortress! and get behind NZFC soccer in general.

Cheers

Tom

oh hell yea me and a mate would be into that, we saw a few dudes at a coupla games in the last NZFC season, could've been you guys but they were young guys, about 16/17 i think, maybe not?  They cracked us up most of the time, we secretly wanted to join in.  Will send you an email.

Lads I've moved your topic to the NZFC, but have rewarded your endeavour with a STICKY topic, so you'll stay at the top for a bit.

Yellow Fever supports anyone who supports the NZFC! Keep up the good work, and come on Team Wellington!

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Thats class, although i'm not sure if we're well known for cheese, however that could be wrong ... i've been singin that to myself and that will go very well at the game i think. Maybe could change cheese to sheep or something

so so so keen for the start of the seaon. myself and stockport (yea...he actually supports stockport county haha!) laid a few foundations for a good support base last season as we thought a bunch of senior citizens (no offense) sitting quietly in the main stand, occasionally raising their arms just far enough for a polite clap was not quite good enough. johnny gould and management are right behind us too which is good. hopefully now with all the hype surrounding the nix we can get some serious interest. park island - what a place to watch footy too! awesome! so the more the better. tell your mates. its a great excuse for some beers in the sun and some quality entertainment (good work on creating the thread too tom!).

Boys if I was back in the Bay I would be down ripping into the chants with you- unfortunately I'm down in welly so will have to support the bay from afar- but when we play TW I will be more than keen to get along and 'sing my heart out for the lads'.

Can I have an 'R' R!
Can I have an 'O' O!
Can I have a 'B' B!
Can I have another 'B' B!
Can I have an 'I' I!
Can I have an 'E' E!

What does it spell? ROBBIE!!!

Let's play footy like Robbie, Legeng Robbie Hunter Dananana Dananana
Let's play footy like Robbie, Legend Robbie Hunter Dananana Dananana

Also you could try

'We've got the Wine, Marine Parade and united... Oh Napier is wonderful!'

And when you are beating the opposition you can always fall back on

'Are you Otago in disguise...'

Any of you Hawkes bay guys remember a few rowdy Youngheart supporting guys coming to visit during an away game last season?

I was one of them, heh.  Brilliant game it was, great clubrooms you guys have too.

Good to see more fans getting together to support their regional team.

What about the ol school Napier city rovers chants that all the ol boys used to sing when the mighty Napier city held the Chatty cup - could be modified to suit HB united.

"we are blue, we are white, we are bloody dynamite,na na na na na na na na naa"

Put that in ya song book...used to crank when 1500 or so sang it when I was a kid.

I remember this song being sang many a times when the likes of Harry Clarke, Roy Stanger, Gary Parker,Terry Parkin, garry Locke used to play oh and used to win heaps too...

too true 12th man, all still legends in the bay.. all still helping develop football in HB which is awesome by playing in various divisions, helping the youth come though..

What about whenever there was a goal scored at PIsland ..the ol boys would sing..."nice one ???(goalscorer), nice one son, nice one (goalscorer) lets have another one..oi!!!!

Those were the days.  I hate to reminisce, but as a young lad, I would go along to games and hope that one day those songs would be sung about me...

However, due to lack of goal scoring ability (read talent), this never happened.

mate it could have easily been 5-1. HB are very average, you might sneak in to the playoffs though. maybe..

HB are average?  I thought Manawatu were average, although there was a young guy on the wing that impressed me, I think he was wearing number 12, although not too sure, but he certainly had a good game.

HB sharpest players were jimmy cudd and cole peverly when they played acfc. They were trying to play the old auckland style of eliminating the midfield completely by playing long balls, it was pretty much bread and butter for the likes of Sigmund and Uhlmann. They also never played square it was always route one football, no triangles and not much off the ball running. They were definetly better than what they have been in previous campaigns, they'll beat teams like waitakere and wellington with pure guts and determination but they dont have the skill to beat a team like Auckland. Thats not to say that they cant get lucky because every team has their day.
