The worst game I've witnessed at the Island in 2 years. Wellington were not a patch on years gone by but on the day they were evenly matched with a very average Hawkes Bay XI. The difference was in attitude.Team Welly contested and chased everything, Hawkes Bay wanted it at their feet or "just over there". when it wasn't delivered to "just over there", they felt no need to respond by putting in anything more than a half hearted (at best) effort. In Luis Corales, Welly had a match winnner, who caused the Bay Army and the Hawkes Bay defence to breack into a sweat everytime he got the ball. @-1 was a flattering scoreline,could easily have been 4 or 5 -1. The Bay Army ,(complete with hangovers) admitted our own performance was down, and wondered if the HBU team had been at the same party....
ZIZOU, your lot should have no problems with the Bay based on this pathetic effort.

That's sorted then - don't worry about bringing the boys down Gouldie, we'll just take the 3 points and lets say a 3-1 result (including 2 more for Jason Hayne and a controversial dodgy penalty for HBU) and you guys can just spend the day at the beach.
Seriously though, Bugger!! The chances of the Bay playing that badly 2 weeks in a row are minimal I would think (especially after Jonathan has finished with them!) I'm sure we would much rather play an over-confident, cocky Bay side. Should be very interesting. If you thought Coralles was good wait till you see what we've got (hold on that's beginning to sound a little over-confident and cocky....)
