Oskarshamn managed an upset 1-0 home win over Elfsborg, who are currently 10th in the Allsvenskan, in the second round of the Svenska Cupen this morning. Stevens was a 62nd minute substitute, coming on when the score was already 1-0. Elfsborg also played the final few minutes of the match with 10 men.
The win means they will be in the group stage for the cup which will likely take place in February next year. Due to the rules in the competition, all 32 teams that progressed from the first round got to host in the second, when the Allsvenskan and Superettan sides enter the competition, in an attempt to get bigger ticket sales further down the pyramid. The group stage will be three games, two of which Oskarhamn will get to host, due to being a third-tier side, and will feature them alongside two seeded sides (likely from the Allsvenskan) and one unseeded side. The winners of the group progress to the quarterfinals.
