Keryn's health has taken a turn for the worse and his immediate family have flown from New Zealand to be near his side at the Pretoria hospice he has now moved into. A Facebook Page "Help Keryn Jordan Campaign" has been set up. This is an open group that anyone can join. Any members of our New Zealand football community wishing to post a message of love and support to Keryn and his family at this time are encouraged to sign up to the page.
I was always impressed reading reports about Keryn carving up the defences all across NZ. I wish him and his family all the strength in the world during this horrible time.
I still find it odd he was never invited to trial for the Nix.

Fuck this stupid game
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

My thoughts and prayers to Keryn and family. Very popular as a player and a person. Was a real privilege to have such a wonderful player at his peak in our little league.
I know he's been battling cancer for years and it had gone into remission, so was saddened to see the TV One News report back in January.
Nice tribute and interview on the 6pm news video (with details how to help son Liam at end of article):

We are experiencing something similar in the Canterbury football community with the severe career-ending illness of former Canterbury United player Ben Hall who only has months left probably.

I don't quite know how to put this out there..And hesitating to even write what I am about to write....But bearing in mind just how many amazing people are out there that opened their hearts to Keryn throughout this trying time..I feel you all deserve to know how he is doing and what is going on.... Lorna (his mum) which has been going through I think any mom's nightmare...called me earlier to inform me that the decision has been made to only give Keryn liquid and to no longer feed him. I have mixed emotions about this procedure, but there is nothing anybody can do about their decision. All we can do is pray that God spares him any more pain &....well, I am pretty much speechless, but you all know what this means, so I ask you to keep him in your prayers these next few weeks or so as he makes his way to a better pain free place. He is not allowed any visitors at all, even though so many of us would like to say our final goodbyes...So all I can say is... your goodbyes will have to be done through prayer...Remembering the good times, the bad, the poker evenings, the football games....Just keep him in your thoughts through this very tough time...
it's absolutely tragic what this guys is having to go through
i enjoyed watching him play for ACFC and Waitak - was pure class
Keryn totally lit up Childers Road Reserve during his time with Gisborne City. Our thought are with Keryn and the family.

If I read the Auckland City article right, he got his cancer at 25 so in 2000. He then kept it quiet and still performed at that level? That's is quite astonishing.
The scary thing is that a melanoma on the underside of a toe caused this. I thought melanoma was a sun related cancer. Guess it just made me a hell of a lot more aware about this kind of thing.
So sad.
Grumpy old bastard alert
RIP Keryn, really enjoyed watching you play for Waitakere.
Pity you were denied your chance with the Knights, but what did they know eh?
Thoughts with his family at this time.
