How much money do you think he has made from just playing football in his entire career ?

3 Kiwis amongst top 15 goal scorers in South African PSL. It's not quite the EPL, but hey............

I was actually in Cape Town for 2 weeks back in April (tail end of last PSL season), and talking to a few football followers there, they had been well impressed by Brockie.

Hopefully Nelson's finest is coping the high crime threat, better than I did!

Deceivingly decent I'd suspect. Nothing to write home about or retire on. But enough to say he's been there, done that.

Would wager this gig in South Africa would have to rank as one of his top paying 'jobs' though.

That's what he said when SuperSport came knocking on his door, it was an offer her couldn't refuse.

if Kris keeps scoring in SA do you think he'd be able to challenge the likes of Brockie for a consistent AW call up?

Make no mistake, there is a lot of money in South African football. Especially clubs like Mamelodi Sundowns (owned by Patrice Motsepe the Rand Billionaire), Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and BidVest Wits (financed by the BidVest corporation). Supersport United are also owned by the Supersport corporation and they are the SA equivalent of Sky. Training facilities are top class too.

Is Bright injured atm? Doesn't look like he has played any games since September last year

Yes, he has a knee injury

Rumours in the South African press today that Kris is on borrowed time with BidVest Wits. Although injured, he's not been registered in the 30-man CAF Champions League squad as expected. I believe he still has 2 months of recovery left so we'll see what happens...

Why register a player who is still months away from playing and / or even getting match fit.

Permalink Permalink

The idea was to register a weakened squad and Bright was intended to be a part of that. Continental competitions aren't taken too seriously in South Africa in the main. Recent tie in the Seychelles was basically a reserves side.

Whats crazy for me is how he has kept getting contracts time and time again but without ever really having put together and entire consistent season. Would love to know what his career earnings are

tbh enough to live on and a chance to travel the world playing football wouldn't be the worst way to spend a decade or so.

bollocks.  Much more fun being stuck in a shark job and criticising the shark out of someone for living a dream.

If he could do it, he could do better than Lutz Pfannenstiel and play for fully professional clubs in every confed.

So far this season Bright has made 5 appearances, all between late August and 1 October. He's played a total of 82 minutes off the bench and has been unable to score or assist a goal.

On 15 October he stayed the whole match on the bench and the two matches after that he hasn't been in the matchday squad.

Heard he has been working back to fitness post his injury and long break in South Africa, then picked up another niggle there so missed two games getting back into shape .

Bright has not featured in the matchday squad for some time now, perhaps due to an injury (does anyone know?). He made 5 appearances between August and October but only played a total of 82 minutes and was unable to score or assist a goal.
