Apparently through a guy named Morris Pagniello, who set him up with a youth contract at Vicenza, and from there he progressed to the full contract at Ascoli last European summer.
Pretty good, considering how often guys make British youth squad teams then never push on.

That's the most convoluted relegation scheme I've ever come across - things are much more straight-forward in England.
Also, seems tough that four out of 22 sides are relegated (18.18 % of the sides or not too far off 1/5th) - in the English Championship of course it's three out of 24 sides (12.5 %).

Liam Graham is negotiating a new contract at Ascoli, now playing in the Italian Third Div., the "Lega Pro 1" but is currently injured and is looking at options. Ascoli's season commences September 1. They were knocked out of the Italian Cup a couple of weeks ago.

That's great for Liam. Hope he gets his knee sorted. I think he's had problems with his knee before so I hope he can get it sorted, otherwise it could affect his career.

He's a good player but has an ACL injury and will be back in March/April. For the coaches like Milicich to mix european based players with New Zealand ones is difficult because of the difference in their technical games. Never played with the U20's or Olympic teams in official competition because of an ankle injury.

Yes, I am his brother. He played in Japan before GISS in the school academy system playing against J-league academies. It was Seiritz school.

He was going to sign at Carpi before tearing his ACL on the first day of pre-season. So he is currently without a club but will be going back to Carpi on trial in March. It is more of a formality than a trial just to make sure he is still at the level he was. His rehab is going well so all is looking good at the moment.
Carpi - cool, a Serie B team, so up a level from Ascoli.
A rapid rise for this club who were still in Serie D in 2010 but have gained successive promotions.

Nah mate all g. Just wondering if he'd had any senior caps though. My understanding was that he has only 1 game off the bench for the senior team last season so wasn't 100% sure if he actually would be being chased by another Serie B club is all.

He was never contracted to Ascoli this season. On the first day of Carpi pre-season he tore his ACL. But at the moment he will be back on the 14th February.

You're correct that he only played once off the bench, however that's due more to Italian football politics rather than his ability. That's why Carpi and some other Serie B clubs are still interested in him.
