The match of the week this week has to be Youngheart versus Hawkes Bay.  Youngheart need a win to stay in touch and Hawkes Bay need somthing to bounce back after last weeks loss at Auckland.  Both teams have plenty to play for and will bee keen to show themselves as contenders.  Can't wait.

Yea I remember last years game at Park Island, Hawkes Bay were 3-0 up at halftime and we were definately the best team on the park, but then the unbelievable happened, you thought we were playing Liverpool ... Manawatu came back and scored 4 goals to win 4-3.  Us crowd were more than dissappointed.

Still I have confidence in HB that we can pull off a win against the cellar-dwellers, although it should be a close game, with no Totori there it makes it a bit less nervy.

Yeah, good call Gumboot - it's a biggy alright. HBU will want to keep up with the pacesetters and will be looking for 3 points in their first home game of the season. YHM NEED a result. A defeat would have them reeling. Would be interesting to know whether they would settle for a point before the game or not.

There's rumors that he may be signing for the nix with a media conference planned to announce tomorrow- so if that is the case he won't be turning out for the mighty HBU. But, like I said, it could all be hearsay.

Cmon HBU this weekend, hopefully there should be a sizeable attendance down at Park Island. Good luck to the boys who are looking to get the chants going! I'm sure if you try hard enough some of the old-timers will rip in to them with ya.

You may even get a few of the elusive Green Frenzy in attendance. I'm looking forward to trading a few good natured chants with you guys and then watching the Phoenix (?) over a beer or two afterwards.

Just hope I'm not left singing "An Army Of One, We're An Army Of One..."

Hope your supporters club is growing.

looking forward to seeing the Green Frenzy at Park Island this Saturday, don't know if the clubrooms are showing the Phoenix game, if not, I'm sure there's somewhere around where we can go for a beer and watch the game.

I think it's a bit rich to call Youngheart 'celler dwellers" mate. They are one point behind, two games in.

The games I've seen YHM vs HBU, The bay normally deserve more but Youngheart always seems to get out of jail. I think this pattern will continue this weekend. I see Youngheart getting up.

i think the aim for hawkes bay this season is to be more ruthless. so often we've been ahead (just like the 3-0 to 3-4 game) or in control and then stupid mistakes are our downfall. just need to be tougher and have no sympathy for the opposition. but hopefully there will be plenty of people down at park island this weekend, and we'll be in fine voice i'm sure. cheerleaders before kickoff is another bonus.....

But I am right aren't I, even if they are 1 point behind , they are still on bottom  ... not putting anything against them, it's just a term

I agree, I felt in the corresponding game last year, they took Manawatu too easy or they felt that Manawatu couldn't come back from 3-0 down ... definately have no mercy for the opponents and keep playing positive football ...

anyone going to the game at Park Island, rock on up to the ol' wooden stand and join in the chanting and singing

I think a few Green Frenzy people are going down but I can't which is hugely disappointing as its the last away game in reasonable distance (e.g Wellington and Hawkes bay). I'll be there in spirit with them anyway. Come on you Hearts!

i went to the 4-3 game last year. Was looking forward to going to this one but cant make it. Bummer, coz I can see ANY result from this one. Game of the round. YHM dont have Vakatalesau and Finau, but with Nieres back could still be a threat up front. Anyone know when Trent Watson gets back?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't 'celler-dwellers' a term for teams which generally finish at the bottom of the league? Given that Youngheart have made the playoffs two years running, I think your use of the term is incorrect.

Just my opinion though I guess

The HBU supports club were great up there.  It was a good to see you singing and giving there left back an earfull evertime he got the ball.  Only worry must be getting outsung by the youngheart under 11's.

Have to admit that Manawatus young vocal supporters  gave a wonderful impersonation of the Vienna Boys Choir.
