Fair or not?
I saw the game and thought it was a horrible challange but not sure it was worth a 6 game ban.
What are your thoughts?

Its no longer a problem.

I do think it was an atrocious challenge and I think what NZF are trying to do is to calm down the on-field rivallry between the two clubs. If they don't do something now it could get a lot worse.
In showing their mettle NZF have effectively said "we won't take any more of this crap". I think it is a good decision - probably not fair on Menapi himself as he's been made an example of but a strong decision that they probably knew wouldn't be universally accepted.

ACFC will be keen for some payback on The Chokers after the way they cried to NZF last season about Pritch after we had beaten them on the field (again!) fair and square.

Totally agree. Absolute shocker. Could have gone for longer. No place for that sort of behaviour in the game at any level.

What's sight without sound? Love without peace? Copulation without conception?

It would have been acceptable if he was kickboxing, but as most people realise, it was bloody horrendous when replayed over and over. As The Jam says, NZF have to lay down the law. There have been some interesting clashes between the two Auckland franchises and we don't want it to get out of hand. He (Menapi) should be a little bit fresher for the big match against the J-League side though, so perhaps there is an upside.

When is that match anyways? I can't find any info on it anywhere.

Do you recall Waikakere United beating Ba in the O-League final at Mt Smart Stadium in front of 10000??? The reason for that match was to find the Oceania rep to head off to Japan. However as the Japs pour around $30 million of there coin into the tournament they really do think they deserve to have a team in that World Club Cup tournament.
So - Waitakere United will have to play a top J-League side and if they win that game they will earn even more $$$ and move to the WCC tournament proper where they might find themselves drawn against Real Madrid.
Go to www.fifa.com and check their tournament info to find out more about the tournament.
As it is, Waitakere United have already picked up $670,000 for wining thwe O-League. That money is split three ways: Waitakere get a share, NZF get some and the other seven franchises get a cut.

He's lucky he didn't get jailed. The tackle was an absolute shocker and deserved the 6 weeks he got. NZF are a disgrace.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.
