This Sunday (11th November) sees Team Wellington make their home debut and the Fever are looking to get behind them for the big derby with Youngheart Manawatu and the Palmy factions of the Fever.
The Fever have had a chat with the good folks at Team Wellington and our sponsors Electric Avenue, Four Kings, the Cambridge Hotel and Regency Duty Free and come up with a game package at a price we can all afford. Free !!
Join the Fever at Electric Avenue from 1pm and have a beer or two (Two for the price of one on Becks !). Buses will pick you up at the door and whisk you to the luxury appointed stands of Newtown Park for the 4pm kick-off, where entry will be FREE for those on board the Fever buses (Green Frenzy welcome). A few beers will be available for purchase at the ground.
Following the game the buses will return us to the Cambridge Hotel where we can set ourselves up for the 'Phoenix on tour' as everyone's favourite football club take on the dirty Queensland Roar in Brisbane from 7pm.
To add a little spice and entice you out on a recovery Sunday, the Fever offer you this little incentive. All people who book a spot on the bus (and turn up) will go in the draw to win a prize pack including a Retro-Ricki signed by the whole Wellington Phoenix squad, a Team Wellington replica shirt and a gift from the good people at Regency Duty Free.
Register now for a spot on the bus by sending us an email to mailbox@yellowfever.co.nz with Team Welly in the title and your name in the email.
(Prize will be drawn at the Cambridge prior to the Phoenix match).
Bring your singing voices.

Its no longer a problem.
The answer to life's problems are rarely found at the bottom of a beer glass - but it's always worth a look.

Is it possible to get the card for the jersey stamped at Electric Avenue or the Hotel, I guess not?
PM BigDunc and ask him to pop in here.
The challenges of having deadlines for one before details are finalised for the other.
It looks like it will just be the bus. We are still talking to people though.

I say tackle him in the face.
You can join me in the Scotsmans gallery up in the woods above the stadium .The access is from Russell terrace and through the massive eastern European architectural nightmare known as la Maison glue bag ,its by far the cheapest way to watch Team Wellington !
Im the one leaning against a pine tree with the coin operated telescope and the 20 cent coin on a piece of string!!

Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

I have learnt never to bet on TW - but I'm tempted this week. I think we will be top 3 this year.

first ten mins the bloke behind us was predicting 4 goals, we thought four goals each - lots of attackers not getting picked up, balls across the face of goal, saves etc
TW settled Brain Little pulled it back to 1-1, from a corner knocked down by Sean Douglas (i think)
we then started to show a bit more purposeful movement
late on in the half we snatched a second, another corner (from memory) Ellenson - inside the six yard slightly mis-hit but it crossed the line
2nd half belonged to TW, Ellensohn shone, he and Raf did some nice work and Cheriton played some nice balls through, i was impressed by Sam Peters when he was down our flank in the 2nd half
over all we could have had a hatful, they could have had a few too!
Ellensohn bagged two and was desperately unlucky not to claim the match ball - one superb move involving him and Raf late in the game was well worth turning up for
Ellensohn's second was sublime, the confidence to beat his man steady himself and stroke it in - composure on a stick.
Second half was enlived as YF crew emerged from their slumber under the bar tables to serenade the team with wit and vocal 'harmonies' - quite possibly the YF lads set a new national record for the number of players to give the crowd a wave in one half of football

All this and the NIX tonight, not a bad Sunday

As for the Fever well after we sorted our sh*t out we went okay. Hopefully we can get a few more of the crowd involved next time. "Stand up for Team Welly" got a very lukewarm response.
Hopefully now everyone knows where we're going to be sitting (the end of the stand closest to the Bar...no surprise there) and a few more will come and join in.
Man of the Match: Michael Utting, for taking our sh!t in very good spirits (no pun intended).
Second Man of the Match: Clebo. Just for turning up.
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
