Hey does anyone know if this fixture is on the cards this year?

Nix not keen last year, be interesting too see this year , though the wait for ACFCs new coach ( and consequent delay in team confirmation ) could see us being well behind the 8 ball this year....

Nix played Waitak last year as a build-up game for World Club Champs

I'd be surprised.  Last year there were gaps for international windows, this year there aren't and this year there are 6 more games in a season that hasn't been lengthened greatly.

Waitakere played the Nix's reserves last year so it is possible. The reserves needs a good couple of games.

I can see Roja, Costa and Chen ripping them to shreds like Bertos, Greenache and Ifill are doing in the A-League.

Damn we need our reserves in the NZFC NOW!

Phoenix "Invatational" XI - excellent way to trial up and coming NZFC talent too.

Play the Phoenix and they would drub you. Not a good look before the WCC.

As a side note, why would they want to play you when you got no coach/direction at the moment? Your coaching position is a poisoned chalice anyway because the egos are signed and in place and the new coach can't change that or bring in the players that he wants. Thats why Roger and Coin didn't last because they tried to change it and the players wouldn;t listen. They are talking to an overseas coach? So that means that the players are going to play and train his way when he demands it. Tui billboard material me thinks...

The attitude of many NZ players to coaching is really poor, if they haven't heard it before then they won't listen

A history of bunch of long in the tooth social players who doesn't want to change really. Is that really new at all about most senior club players? But to have it at that level, is very poor indeed even if it is Auckland. Are you guys sure that it is like that?AllWhitebelievr2009-08-25 22:39:39

Talking about Paul Posa:

"He also has the respect of his players, something predecessor Colin Tuaa struggled to achieve, and can manage the board's weighty expectations."

Kinda says it all. You can be a good coach and still fail at ACFC if you are not given some autonomy of control of the team. This is certainly a case of the tail wagging the dog.
