Meh.  Got out of Henderson without being stabbed last week, not going to push my luck.

Understood.  I'm still trying to figure out why some nutter stole my bright orange rubbish bag last night. I mean, I wasn't tempted to run after him and say give it back.  I just stood there thinking, you did what?edward l2009-03-27 17:18:40

1-0 at the half... better chances to Auckland in the second half but Waitak still lead.  End to end game.

Krishna has just hit the netting twice, once on either side... and the second was a howler.  Then Jordan goes down the other end and scores for the United Nations...  LOLs.

Urlo has a long range ping and Gillespie palms it into his own net.

Extra time and it looks like it is all Aucklands.  2-1.

the most professional game of football I've seen in the NZFC.
Very little sloppiness. Ak City did well to come back.
Waitak didn't exactly sit on it's behind. Krishnan looked frustrated.
Ak did crowd out players they ordinarily can't cope with.

After seeing Krishna today I'd say he's well worth a punt.

Great atmos at one end of the stadium! Loads of singing, celebrating and drinking - without the restraining habits of Mrs Proak I'd be completely c**ted by now

A couple of pictures from the final, haven't figured out how to post it directly.  Just click on a photo to make it larger.

Auckland C*nts. Krishna was class, just couldn't finish. We looked tired from the moment we scored, although we should have finished off the match with some counter attacks.

Can't stand the atmosphere. This is the best (okay, second best) team in New Zealand (Phoenix excluded) and people are looking at me funny when I try and sing/clap etc. We're supposed to be the workers!! Lazy Westies...

Hope we hammer them in the O-League next week.

Your maths are as crap as your team .....youd be third best and its YOUR home venue,  work on yer atmosphere...as for workers is work what you call the DPB or the dole..? I know car theft is a hobby...
Yep Krishna looked good in parts and he'll fit right in to the phoenix esp if they can get a striker to play alongside him

Three for me, and two for them.

not a bad game.  a bit scrappy to start with, but both teams had some decent players.

i'm a bit concerned though that we don't seem to be producing any new decent players in NZ.  young, vicelich, jordan, emblen, lee, totori, krishna - all of the best players are either foreigners or retired all whites.  even if you look at the average players most of them are the same, so where are the next lot of decent NZ players coming from?

jake butler looks a decent player and allan pearce is ok, but there wasn't really much to enthuse over in terms of the long term development of the sport.

oh, and i reckon that nicholson and robinson can both count themselves unlucky to have not been playing.  both are much better than the two keepers who we saw line up yesterday.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

. To be fair, I thought Gillespie did okay. Just that terrible mistake!! Had it gone into extra time, I think City would have won it anyway. We were too tired.

Also, I know, I was complaining about the atmosphere. but even if you try and start singing, its not like everyone stands up and joins in... It wasnt like I was having a go at City, I was just saying how frustrated I was with the Waitakere "fans".

Lets be honest, Krishna shouldn't waste his time at the phoenix... He can play at a higher level than that provided he works on his upper body.

I don't think it would be a stupid idea for him to prove himself in a professional league being watched by a lot of top scouts.  Right now he'd be a big punt for a side outside this part of the world, he may not settle, he may not be strong enough, he may just not be good enough.

A chance to play in the A-League for a season could well prove to himself and other clubs that he is worth a punt.

I can relate to that only too well. I almost enjoy away matches more - at least there you don't have the expectation that others might join you so you just get on and make an exhibition of yourself supporting your team.

The next lot of decent players were playing at the other NZFC clubs;

Some good young players at Canterbury, the side that won the National Youth League 2 seasons ago, Blackburn, Eager at TW, Chettleburgh, Robson at Manawatu, Peverley, Bevan at HBU and then Marco Rojas, Alex Barlow, Nik Robson, Sam Margetts, Dan Finlay, Ben Hunt etc at Waikato.

Is right.

The second goal against Wellington was something else, a goal similar to one my very own Fernando Torres would score! However, he should take a small step up to professional in the A-League, and then see how that goes for him.

And if you thought I was done with you, you were wrong. If you want to take the mickey out of people who dont have as much money as you, who have less 'drive' or less brains or less opportunities or less whatever, then good for you, and I hope it makes you feel very high and mighty and so much better than all the other people.

But to take the mickey out of a kid who died is just sick. It is not amusing in anyway. That kid went to my school, so I knew him. I'm not taking that sh*t from you, alright? You should get a life.

Rant over.
