Del Monte told me he has also signed for City and I understand the three Mathews boys Jake, Joel and Sam are all at the club.

I also heard Suri and Wylie were coming and expect Jeff Campbell to join up with his father and maybe even Puna who has played for Clive at North Shore for a few years.

This would mean we have signed 6 players from across town. So it is not a one way street and presumably Colin Tuaa knows what he wants as he has had the job longer than the other lot. Anyone he hasn't signed presumably he didn't want.

Good luck to Sykes, Gillespie and Hayne they did the club proud in their time but you can't complain if they weren't wanted and are able to get a game elsewhere

Jeff Campbell I believe is staying at Waitakere for O-League football so he can get an A-League contract next year.

Sykes is poo anyway and only good for coming across like an hard ass gone soft. When I think about the 5 midfielders they had last year in the form of Seaman, Smith, Mulrooney, Pritchett and Sykes, He would always be last cab off the rank, left footed or not in my book.

You are having a laugh if you think Sykes is poo.  He is one of the most underated players in the NZFC.  You don't captain your side to 3 NZFC titles if you don't deserve to be in the starting side!  Incidently I think you will find that Pritch has played most of his football at Right back for ACFC.  This season should really spice up the NZFC with the movements of the Auckland players between the two clubs.  The local derbys are going to provide some great footy hopefully to large crowds.  If Waitakere have signed Sykes that it may just be what they need to finally beat ACFC.

Yeah, sorry CityFan, I did forget about the those others.

Yip, I also wish them all the luck, I know for a fact that Gillespie left as i see's more of a chance to play there, and the other two where just not wanted by Tuaa.

I did hear that Jeff will also be coming across...... Not worried about who City have or have not signed, as i still see them being there at the end....and that is the main aim.

In the Hawkes Bay Today newspaper today that Brockie has signed for HB Utd. Coach Johnathan Gould also strongly hinted at some other "big name" signings to come. Brockie quoted as basically saying he hasn't heard from the Nix since near the beginning and is hoping to shine in the NZFC and get noticed again.

Thought I'd start one thread for all your transfers and transfer rumours for the NZFC 2007/2008.  So get cracking.  Looks like K-Rock aka Andy Barron will be joining Stu Jacobs at Team Wellington.

Sam Jasper is weighing up a move to Wellington as well.
Both Canterbury and Hawkes Bay have also asked him but the lure of the Phoenix holds appeal.

The Hogg brothers (Ian & Stu) are likely to end up in Hawkes Bay.

Neil Emblen has signed for Waitakere

Hopefully we hear of some signings from down Sotuh.  Otago need to lift their game.

Rossco would never leave City. I hear Tamati Williams is also in line to join Auckland. That replaces Gillespie quite nicely.

Tuaa is doing a good job on the recruitment front.

Hopefully he nails Campbell and Puna

Shame that Boxall is going to the US College system

What's happening in Wellington. Who has Stu signed?

Puna? are you having a bubble? I didnt think Hayne would have signed to WUFC after what some of the people at the club have done for him. The whole aim of the signing window and transfers is to bring in more quality but were not doing that yet. I may be wrong, but unless he brings in one or two big name players before the first ball is kicked then i think its fair to say, at this point in time anyways, that this is the weakest acfc line up in a long time. wrong? thoughts.....

Rumors Rumors............I love rumors.

No real suprise here but I'm sure Hawkes Bay United will sign Greg Henslee.  Greg had great sucess in the Scottish 3rd division.  He is currently playing for Napier in the CL and scoring goals.

Also Manawatu have signed and announced Fijian Pair Osea Vakatalesau and Peni Finau. Both are full Internationals and I'm sure will make an impact on the league.

Just have to sit tight and wait and see when The god will sheed light on Tommy Smith's previous clubs

i would have thought that he would play at auckland city, having done well with central in his early years.  that is if he decides to play nzfc at all of course and what the exact definition of 'retirement' is in this case

Unfortuantely - though with Jonathan "Retired" Perry and Sykesy they are in danger of becoming our version of the Bolton retirement home.

Perry, Hay, Utts, Sykes (depending where they use him) is a pretty old defence/keeper combo.

PROAK - The Westies will have Gillespie in goal not Utting and Sykes is a midfielder.

It is more likely they will have Shane Pascoe at full back as he has also signed for them.

They get Pascoe and we get Wylie. I fell like the school boy who swaps his Booby Moore trading card for one of Gordon McQueen.

So a back line of Pascoe, Hay, Perry and a RB looks pretty decent to me and will be dangerous on attacking set pieces.

Our back line is looking like

Wylie, Uhlmann, Suri, Pritchett

I'm happy with Pritch and Uhlmann has delivered in the past. However, Suri and Wylie? Why did they sign for us if they could go to Japan with the club they qualified with? Did we lure them or were they not wanted? I'm tending to think the latter.

We desparately need a centre back hopefully Tuaa is talking to Sigmund and can get him back from Australia.

Pascoe was a really good solid left back but got his leg broken towards the end of NZFC Season 1 - didn't paly at all last year - bad break.

Yeah City Fan I know Sykes plays left mid generally but he played at left back a bit last season and with Allan Pearce having a stormer last season in that position and having Soupy Campbell in the squad to (another left mid) I wonder where they'll play him.

I'm a bit worried about depth in defence for us Greg Uhlman tends to pick up a few injuries and Suri's distribution is ordinary to say the least. Pity Boxall is reportedly heading to the States. Siggy would be magic but he's on $1000 oz a week in the VPL - don't know that ACFC could match that.

I have heard that Siggy is on his way back for another season....Which is Great.

Our possible line up would look like::

Nicholson
Pritchard -  Siggy -  Uhlman -  Van Steeden
Urlo - Campbell - Mulronny - Little
Jordan - Young

Bench:
Williams
Willie
Suri
Coombs

But you never quite know with Mr Tuaa..... could be totally different.
