For the players' sake, I hope Waitak go early to acclimatise?  33 degrees and running 10 Kms is no fun.

Watch out for Nicolas Vallar, who played for Montpellier, a long time ago.

Stevey Chong Hue is back in Tahiti and can make a mess of your backline.

Mont Dore, away to ACFC, are hard to break down and can cause trouble, but when you score the first goal, it's generally the end for Mont Dore.  Have to remember it's a Saturday game, 3pm.

Then it's a big one for ACFC against Dragon out at Trusts, the following Wednesday.  I am surprised, how many people know their grannies will be sick.

Pity it's a week day, a weekend game would get a bigger crowd. Seems an odd time and venue.

In that heat old Marshy is likely to blow a gasket.

Double-header. Almost certainly because of OFC TV requirements - they can't be in two places at once.

Moan alert! Wednesday 3pm? Really? How many are going to turn out for that?

In a big stadium with a 5,000 seat stand to boot. How crazy, even to suit O League tv rights. This is a perfect game for the intimate confines of Kiwitea Street on a weekend.

You. And me. And as many Kiwitea St faithfull who can make it. Plus any Westies who think Waitak are still in with a chance.

Nah. A double-header will be good. Get back from LA. You're missing stuff.

Would love to be there but unfortunately can't. I'm definitely contemplating going to Morocco in December if City win the O League.

Some quality defending/keeping in this.

That Mont Dore keeper is atrocious. He was shit during at least half those goals.

Three for me, and two for them.

The defence was non existent in parts! At the game there were a number of times where ACFC were 3 men against keeper

I read on the report that Darren White got smashed and suspected broken ankle. Is this the case? It sounds like it went unpunished.

No not at all. I just heard he got smashed and nothing for it and the report said something similar hence why I was asking the question. Good that its only a sprain and nothing more serious.

O-League Table :

ACFC       4   3   0   1   18    6    9

Dragon     4   2   1   1     7    3    7

Waitak      4   2   1   1     5    4    7

AS Dore    4   0   0   4    4   21   0

If ACFC draw witn Waitak on Sunday they'll still be top - unless Dragon beat Dore by a cricket score. And assuming Waitak beat Dore handsomely the following week, City will need at least another draw with Dragon in Tahiti to shut out Waitak and make the semis. So two must-not-lose games are the minimum requirement. Of course, if City beat Waitak on Sunday they (and almost certainly Dragon) will definitely be through. Their last game in Tahiti will just be about pride.

If Waitak beat Mont Dore by a cricket score, that's not the case. Waitak can still lose to ACFC and if Dragon lose, Waitak can still go through.

I suggest wait and see approach before writing off Waitak (which your post largely does). My main concern is both Auckland teams get through. 2/4 chances to win the cash is better than 1/4 and that's all I care about, the cash coming back to NZ. I don't care who wins it as long as its an NZ team.

That's true. 10, 10, 9 points at the top after this weekend would make for 2 hell of a final games in the islands!

A Waitakere win would be interesting. Puts them on 10, Dragon on 10 and ACFC on 9 (assuming Mont Dore stay crap). That would mean ACFC need to go to Dragon and win there to get through. WOW. Wouldn't that be something.

Any flights L.A. - Tahiti weekend after next TrueBlue? Just in case.

Would love to Jerzy but will be in Mexico. The O League has certainly turned interesting with the rise of Dragon FC. Still fancy ACFC over Waitak this weekend. At least it should garner a bumper crowd now there's a lot at stake. You'd certainly hope so. Try one of the excellent steak sandwich's JV, it might lighten your gloom at being at Kiwitea Street.

Mate that Dragon win on Wednesday has turned this competition. If ACFC had won it would have been all over but now it's all to play for... Unless you're Mont Dore. I wouldn't like to pick it between AC and WU - you just never know with those two. Obviously, I'll take my singing voice for ACFC!

Something about this game seems interesting, Dragon (outsider) took the lead and no angry faces on ACFC's players, no reaction at all.

No you are right. You are exactly the kind of supporter that everyone on this forum wants to hang out with because you are insightful, respectful to your opponents and other leagues and post with perspective. I'm just pleased you don't exagerate or draw a long bow. I love your ability to be able to praise your opponents for a deserved win and admit when you are wrong. God I wish there were most posters like you. In fact, you should give me your details. I would learn so much from you. BFFs perhaps? I'll endorse you, my BFF for forum member and NZF supporter of the year!

Interesting. Perhaps the lack of angry faces on ACFC players was down to complacency after the drubbing they handed to Monte Dore. They were caught napping and paid the price. Dragon has certainly been the surprise package of this O League. Ba could be a tough nut to crack as well. Makes for an interesting competition.

Yeah, might be that, something usual in world of sport... but thing that amazes me is that there is no reaction after Dragon came in lead after being one goal behind.

Dragon might top this group, it's completely up to them.

I have to profess, this is the exact result I wanted purely for the fact that it allows 2 teams to qualify from NZ still. I think judging by Mont Dores results thus far, its unlikely they will beat Waitakere so that would assure then ACFC need a win away in the heat to a team that they should have comfortably beat (and would have seen the demise of Ricki as AW coach) on Wednesday just gone.

Will be a very interesting last round. These forums are going to be fantastic!!!! Either way, I want 2 NZ teams in the play offs, better chances to keep the cash in NZ.
