McGowen on 100k, Smalley coming in on heaps as well. He in OZ working under Sean Douglas who used to work for AFF. They should have spent the money on keeping their best players and buying more. Apparently they in crap financially. Haven't paid the players from last season. Butler been chased from Wgtn and Hawkes Bay

I think Marshall was a damned fine coach at WU last season and deserves better than this treatment. Highly paid administrators don't win silverware.

But then the same happened to Milicich and Emblen - won a lot but not the big one. If thats the measure for success then WU will be churning coaches every bloody year.
I respect that the ACFC gang have a soft spot for Marshy being one of their own previously but you have to wonder if that is true, was there not an agenda going into this from MacGowan? Who did Smalley work for at NZF. I think when you answer that question (I'm damn sure it MacGowan) then you will see a stitch up.
