So... Krishna to score from a cross, and break the record? Jesus Christ that would be awesome.

Anyone else hear the brand new spurious revelation that Krishna is in fact Muslim and has a phobia of over-zealous goal celebrations

Given he is probably going to break Ifill's record this season, do people think he is close to being our best every player. ifill was around when we had quite a winning team so perhaps his exploits were more obvious. Whereas Krishna has been when we have mostly sucked. Kinda feel like he's carried the team at times.

Krishna will break the record for sure. Every goal he scores is of value to the team, club and us fans. Very few were "tap ins", most were decent strikes. Long may it continue in Nix colours.

Because I like stats:

Ifill played from 2009-14 for 106 games (started 92) to score his 33 with a season high of 13 in 2009-10.

Krishna played from 2013-18 for 87 games (started 76) to score his 32 with a season high of 12 in 2016-17.

2009-10 - Finished 4th

2010-11 - Finished 6th but made Semi

2011-12 - Finished 4th

2012-13 - Finished 10th

2013-14 - Finished 9th

2014-15 - Finished 4th and went out in Elimination final

2015-16 - Finished 9th

2016-17 - Finished 7th

When you look at that, as Dale said he has done more when the team was worst.

Playing against better teams in the A-League than Iffs did too.

Interesting discussion.

Iffs played in a team that was better overall,  and Krishna scoring at a better rate.

For me though Ifill did things that made you just gasp at times whereas Krishna has the advantage of Raw pace that Ifill never had with us.

What is each players assists stats like ?

As someone said maybe our thoughts of Ifill are coloured by the club's success at the time and Roy has at times carried the club.

Both fantastic players for the club, but if my life depended on either of them creating a chance or finishing a chance Ifill would be my man

Can't find assists for both players unfortunately but while searching I did find this. Players each player has played the most with, appearances together in brackets.

Ifill - Durante (102), Muscat (98), Bertos (93), Sigmund (92), Lia (89), Lochhead (74), Brown (68), Greenacre (67), Paston (57), Daniel (55)

Krishna - Durante (80), Moss (70), Bonevacia (66), Lia (64), McGlinchey (62), Doyle (47), Muscat (46), Ridenton (44), Sigmund (43), Riera (42).

Agree. He is definitely one of my all time favourites, it's also a nice story, coming late into a pro contract and worked his way up to the top. He is a club legend. It's not about the absolute best, Ifill and Krishna where both the best their times AND Krishna still has the chance to make that legendary goal or assist to catapult us into the grand final or win it.

We may yet see "The Flat Track Bully Stand" at the ROF.  Should be the one behind the goals.

Only if Roy never goes to play for another HAL club of course!

You know that Jeff Vader and I have our differences, but I think we should retire the "Flat Track Bully" line because Jeff has repented of that bad call. ;)

To be fair don't think he was the only one to question Roys ability when he first arrived. Think there were more doubters than those who liked the signing.

And we are only constantly referring to it to break Vader's balls. No one thinks that of Roy any more - we love him. He really is a great Oceania success story, it would be nice if he went on to greater stardom somewhere else but the A League, but for purely selfish reasons I want him to stay with us at the Nix.

Apology but it was not aimed at JV as I have no beef with him whatsoever.

It was more about the sheer image of a stand named like that, on a curved section of the stadium.

And we are only constantly referring to it to break Vader's balls.

I'd like to refer to it, not to break Vader's balls, but to massage my own gigantic balls. I said from the bloody get go that he looked the goods, after only an appearance or two (never having seen him play in the prem). And I said he would still be the goods while Ernie was leaving him out, as he eased him into professional football. It was actually a very large percentage on here from memory who had totally written him off at that point.

And yes this is probably about the 10th time I've made one of these cringey "I told you so" posts about Krishna, I'm aware of how it might come across, so have at me b*tches...

Funny how you don't see many people with Krishna 21 printed on their shirts though but quite a few with Ifill 8. That might change if he breaks the record.

I dont have any at the moment but if he breaks the record krishna 21 will be my next top.

How many in elimination games?

that's the chink in the armour for now. Still hopes that may be rectified this season.

Going back to this, he has only played in the finals once, so never really had the chance too.

Ifill was the driving force behind our most successful period, Roy hasn't quite been as influential on the team as a whole.  I hope he finishes his career with us though - he definitely feels like one of ours

Ifill's enthusiastic personality probably makes a difference.

He's more outgoing and draws more fans to him.

Krishna doesn't seem so comfortable in the limelight.

(e.g. has never done a post-match interview that I remember)

I'm happy for him to fly under the radar (of Australian media if nothing else) and keep scoring and setting up goals for us.

He's done them a few times, most recently they commented on his bleached hair and the next game it returned to black.
