Waitakere (the cheeky buggers) are trying to lure Otago United's new import Colin Falvey up north to play for them next season. The young Irishman who has played only a handfull of games for the Southerner's could be out of there before the end of the winter league season.
Is Waitakere commiting the same offence as what Real Madrid are doing to Man Utd over Ronaldo? Now I'm not implying that Falvey is anything like Ronaldo, however what I was wondering was if there was any rule in the NZFC to stop players being 'tapped'?
With Falvey possibly heading up north it will stop the potentally steardy back three Otago would have had next season in Chisolm, Falvey and Tinkler. I have heard that Tinkler has been talking to Otago's assistant coach Mike Fridge about coming down south.
Also in more irrelivant other news, Fallon is trying to get every MAGS player ever to play for him at school boy level to play for Waikato FC next year - Waikato are consequently changing their emblum to a navy blue lion!

I think also that no-one can sign more than one year deals at NZFC level...because the competition is classed as amateur. Although I stand to be (probably) corrected
Normo's coming home

I'm pretty sure you are right about the contracts, 1 year is all they can sign.
Fallon was always going to make Waikato into a MAGS old boys' (and current players') team. Good on him. It would be nice to see the likes of Craig Wylie get a career reviving boost by going there. Look for Daniel Fonati, who's playing for Waitakere City in the winter, to head there too. Fallon rates him highly.

hello there, first visit here for quite a while...
Some of our melville players were previously on 2-year contracts with waikato FC. They had to fill in loan forms to return to their winter club. it was a silly arrangement, where i struggled to see a benefit for the player - allowed someone else a say over what they did without offering material benefit, as far as i could see.
Damian Fonotti played for Waikato during the Edmondson-Pooley-wilkinson era. Had a penchant for entertaining sideline dribbles, but gave the ball away far too much and never actually scored.

I Heard theres goin to be a MAG'S(Waikato)FC reunion with Ross McKenzie moving back north after been lured with the offer of money and a scholarship. And has been promised to be leading the line for Fallon yet again. Reports say McKenzie is jumping at the chance after playing left back for the last 2 years.

Rumour is Fallon has been talking to a few of his 'past prodigys' for positions at Waikato or MAGS FC. One career that could do with the new image is one Carl Budgen. The former under 17 World Cup New Zealand player now struggles to make the Hamilton Wanderers (Northern Premier League).
