Rumour has it Sam Messam is in talks with an un-named A-League club.  The want away striker is said to be frustrated with the standard in NZ football and has decided that he will take his rugby like frame over to Australia to play in the top australasian level.  After recently signing Jeremy Brockie, the Fury may be looking for a big man for him to play beside... this player may come in the shape of Sam Messam.

To be totally honest, based on last season, I would pick Messam as a striker ahead  of Brockie.Messam was a more 'In your face' player. Having said that, he was still not a real striker as  like I like to see... Any club mug enough to have him can do so, give me this Soroman bloke any day-and this after only seeing him for 70 odd minutes.!!!

Sam Messam vs Kevin Muscat. Not even a battle that Muscat would get a sweat over.

I'm still waiting to find out from you Feedback whom the brilliantly talented severely underrated Sam Wilkinson is going to sign for. You seem to have all the inside gossip on him and every other footballer in the world.

Messam has given up the game hasn't he?

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Their recruiting is already the laughing stock of the A-League.  Big Sam hasn't proved himself at NZFC level, let alone A_League.

It sort of depends on the type of quality ball service He was getting from the Midfield as well as getting attacking midfield follow-up on any of his set-ups. In the NZFC, the Midfield delivery are usually like Lochead's crosses on Sunday i.e. utterly incompetent and also have very little idea of supporting on a counterattack.

Although I haven't seen him play to really comment specifically.

Thats such a cop out...he's not getting the quality of delivery.  He's clearly not good enough, he's huge but thats about it

Nah, leave it open just in case there may be a few thing to simile about Sam in the future so we can resurrect this tread again and say, "I told you so"

With the endless balls the nix cross into the box they could definitely use a forward of his size/strength although his skill would be questionable at best.

No, let's make fun of the absurdity of seeing Messam in the A-League a little more
