Tech looking on course to win the league.
season over for cavy already anyway
Nup
Although Tech are still 3 points clearas pointed out. Fall from grace is surely fair comment.
Will they win the league..?
It has been very interesting viewing this thread from the outside for the last month or so. I find it very parculiar that some people on here are having stabs at a team that are 10 games unbeaten in all competitions. Horses head - i think you should look at boylans tactics before you question fridges - he has masterminded the first half of the season.
Tech have had a few stand outs this year including the new boys to the team (the goalie and the paul scholes look a like in the middle of the park).
It is also good to see that tech can go 12 points clear on saturday... i know that cavy and roslyn will have two games in hand but the pressure will be mounting!
Mike Fridge is apparently turning to Richard Smith to partner Aaron Burgess up front this weekend - it will be Smiths sign of game as he is retiring.
Aaron Burgess is looking to take goals 24, 25 and 26 and that will have the golden boot sowen up...
Liam McKinley whose name is constantly getting his name thrown around most teams dressing room is apparently singnig for the scum. Word on the street is good mates with Michael "trator" Cunningham and he is going there to warm the bench with him.
Campbell "Mr. Soccer Kaiser" Parkin must be up with player of the year at the moment along with Aaron "Burgertov" Burgess, Blair "the man mountain" Schoular and Andy "C*ckburn" Coburn (name speaks for itself)
All the best for the rest of the season lads
Well said feedback, cockburn good call
Cunningham is a roslyn boy from junior level, league isnt over yet feedback. As for tactics I'm not in dunedin so wouldn't have a clue what they were.
1-0 to Green Island over Tech....
That was a 100-1 long shot but good on the Islanders
any results from today? rumour GI rolled tech massive result! any truth in it?
All results around the country today can be found here:
And for the Soccersouth League, here:
Cheers,
JR
The rumour is true GI 1 Tech 0
Late in the game Callum Flaws launched a punt over the Tech back four that bounced over the keeper for the winner. He then got a second yellow for taking his shirt of whilst celebrating. He also saved a pen from Burgie earlier in the match.
With Tech having to play Cavvy and Roslyn 2 mores times each and losing yesterday id say this isnt true
Nup
1 loss in 10 - not to bad really... if they do that for the rest of the season they should still win the league....
Can someone please explain the goal in detail from the onions? I cant quite comprehend what happened

Feedback I think you may want to reserve your lengthy and extravagant spiel's fo the Sunday. Otherwise you may end up looking a bit silly.
FPL just got interesting.

Feeling a bit burnt out? Try substituting shorter duration but higher intensity sessions towards the end of the week leading up to games. You will maintain your condition but feel fresher for the weekends games. Also try adding some active rest. For example a pool session or bike session instead of a run post game or hard training session.
So now Canty has dropped out, when will the announcment be for Otago to pull out? Not a lot of noise coming from the board to convince people they are viable.
Have the players been paid their expenses from last season yet? Not you brando I know you got paid.

they got the moolah
Just put $2000 on roslyn against tech this weekend there paying $2.00 at the TAB
Rumour has it Footballsouth are investigating allegations that Roslyn players were bribed by the TAB to throw the game against Tech to avoid paying out $4K.
Can anyone confirm?
give us the run down of tech's fall from grace this weekend?
Come on Horsehead there was no fall from grace - still out in front and comfortable in the league and that is all we're worried about. I must admit though from the cold stands I was rather dissapointed with the lads, just didn't look like they turned up - hats off to Caversham they were definitely the better team on the day. We can now look to the league and with Burgie back reckon we should be able to hold of the late run by Cavvy.
Although Tech are still 3 points clear as pointed out. Fall from grace is surely fair comment.
Ironic that the league is all Tech are worried about. Last year all we heard from Culling Park was that the cup was the most prestigious trophy and the league was almost an after thought.

Will they win the league..?
funny how the tide turns... can cavy win the double?
First thing, Cavy thoroughly deserved their victory, they played to the conditions better than Tech & good luck to them in the cup, they have a real chance of making the final esp if they face the winner of the Nelson/Manurewa game.
"fall from grace" thats laughable, you do realise that Burgess & Mackenzie weren't playing...
Maybe Glover & Dunbar might want to look at these stats for Roslyn against Tech & Cavy this season
P W D L F A
4 0 0 4 0 11
& lets not forget the first round exit in the cup, pretty sad really...

Surely Tech aren't 2 man team (or even a 1 man team). They certainly aren't the only team to have had players out. Roslyn lost Hancock and O'Driscoll for the season before the first game and have also missied Witten Sega System and Tom Connor for large parts of the season.
After yet another dismal national league campaign it would be great to see Cavy win the Cup and another all Dunedin South Island final.
rundown of results this weekend?
Tech too good for a depleted Roslyn winning 4 zip. Goals to MOM Coburn, Scoullar, Burgess and Rickerby I think.
Highlight of the match Judder Flaws had a go at Witten-Sega, Boylan stepped in and apparantly gave him a 'tap' with his forehead. Flaws went down like he'd been shot and got booked by Dave Langely for play acting.
Mosgiel went down to Cavvy 4-1.
Yeovil, is it true Malcy is the new gaffer for next season? also when did Cunningham get injured? hope it wasn't last monday playing against the youth team...
Breaking News..... Malc Fleming head coach of Otago Utd for 2009/10. Fact
The 11 and now the 11+ developed by FIFA are great exercise programs to prevent injury. I would suggest doing these once to twice a week or incorporate during your training. Make sure you are shown how to do the exercises correctly before attempting.
Who here plays for (or knows the most) about Cavvy this season ?
Theres only one Tony Martin
If Malcolm ( I will coach anywhere for cash) Fleming is Otago Utd manager in the upcoming season the club will have an even worse track record. FACT
To Hard News, Cavvy are quality and they will be hard to stop in this years Chaptam Cup. Strength all round the park.

Hard news, I have played v cavy a number of times previous seasons know most of their players as they tend to keep a strong nucleus of players together for years. I agree with feedback they are strong all round the park, their goalkeeper might be a bit of a concern but ususally he won't have to do much behind a solid back 4. I think they will beat three kings in dunedin, (especially if the tie is at tonga park sh*thole long grass) and if they get a home tie in the semis then they are a real chance to make the final. That said though I think both Miramar and olympic are better sides and should be able to turn Cavy over if they draw them either home or away.

Cavvy keeper got done with drink driving the other weekend...
sorry I agree with football talk I meant. Whose there keeper?
Caversham are long ball merchants - they all about lumping it up to their two big strikers who hold it up well. Pretty average if you can counter that - would be good to see a Dunedin team get through to the semis but don't think they have the team anymore.
two big strikers????? jackson and dugdale??? kennedy tech are all about the long ball, cavy are a way better footballing side
tech all about long ball?...hmmmmm
likelihood of cavy progressing in the cup this weekend?thoughts?
