Southern Football (incl Southern United) (Part 1)
Keano sounds like he or she has some good advice on how to run a quality team ? , Does anyone agree with paying players or should a win bonus be in place ?? for teams playing in top local footy or NZFC
The Onslow Junior Football Club have a great document on the Capital Football website. Have a read, very clear and concise.
For me the transition from junior to senior level at Mosgiel was weird as the only way I got in to it was one of the guys i used to play with was in the 3rds team and told me to turn up and then i recruited some of my mates from there. The better players would probably be better looked after but there didn't seem to be something in place to help that transition, like you say, and i think it's still the same. Maybe some of our guys do go to other clubs as well not sure, and then you get people like me who move cities too.
Would it be fair to say Kings would be a sort of youth system for Cavvy?

Otago United (LW)
The players: Terry Phelan has stuck with his winning squad from last weekend. Blair Scoullars knee injury keeps him on the sidelines for another 2-3 weeks.
The vital statistics: David Dugdale is already just one goal shy of matching the effort of Otagos top scorer from last season (John Lang 3 goals)
Squad List: 1-Liam Little (GK), 2-Rys Henderson, 3-Tristan Prattley, 4-Barry Gardiner, 5-Colin Falvey (Captain), 6-Michael Smith, 7-Robbie Deeley, 9-Tom Jackson, 10-David Dugdale, 11-Andy Coburn, 12-Aaron Burgess, 13-Callum Flaws (GK), 14-Sean Brand, 15-Morgan Day 17-Tim Horner, 18-Tom Connor.
YoungHeart Manawatu (WW)
The players: Injured Korean striker Park Sung-Bae is the only player missing from last weeks missing squad.
The vital statistics: Manawatu are the only team yet to concede a goal.
Manwatus best start to a season was three straight wins and a draw in 2006-07.
Squad list: 1-Chris Marsh (GK), 2-Adam Cowan, 3-Pablo Yackson, 4-Jan Weissenfeldt, 6-Matt Kennedy, 7-Jason Hayne, 8-Nathan Cooksley, 9-Gusatvo Saralegui, 10-Leo Shin, 11-Scott Robson, 16-Raf de Gregorio, 18-Finlay Milne, 19-Andrew Bailey (GK), 20-Gonzalo Nieres, 22-Cory Chettleburgh.
Would change Deeley (don't know what other options there are?), he was lost on Sunday against a poor team. Would have been a tough game for him, the 4-3-3 formation may have made his positional play difficult. (Usually enjoy his play for Cavvie, just not sure of him at this level).
Hopefully the bench might strengthen though with Robert and Martin Genshur and maybe Big Bill Chisholm getting amongst it finally. Gives the team so much more depth with them involved.
I'm picking a draw at the weekend although they are some juicy odds for Otago.
Odds are $3.40 Otago, Draw $3.20, Manawatu $2.00
I agree with both Think Phelen will stay with last weeks team because it was a winning one although I think if Henderson dosent play better in his 3rd game he will be lucky to keep his spot.Scoular not back yet?Id like to see chisom come off the bench this weekend and pushing coburn into a more attacking role, and maybe get a 1st look the germans if there transfer comes through?
There wasn't any talk about the germans on NZFC so there aloud to play?
Heard a conversation this morning that chisholm will be on the bench , Phelan doesnt have to confirm his team until kickoff , so I guess he will take note of both germans and chisholm at the training tommorrow , both germans have been released to play , their international transfer was held up hence the wait
I would have prattley at left back and smith at right back ??
o was i dino...You sound like you no football there's not many of you around it would be nice to chat at the game if i knew your face!Just look for me im the man yelling Otaaaagooooooooo
Maybe flight times?
