Thanks....
Each team has players that standout in some games and others not... compared to other leagues is the depth on the field.
Teams may have 8 decent players then 3 that are inbetween the Fletchers and the SPL.
GI - Matt is an athlete (why never in Southern United.. rhetorical), Tom, Eddie, tight back 5 etc etc
Mosgiel - Cam, Alex, Aiden, Cody before he left for Wellington, backline is tight, Rory looks good at this level. etc
Varsity - Oban, Tim, Ben and probably the strongest squad, Stu the keeper can be a real match saver on his day.
Roslyn - Harley, Tennesse (top player just needs to get a big preseason) etc team should do better
Tech - Rhys is a worker, good players, Team just not firing.
Cavvy - 2 Bens, Conner some really good young ones coming through. Club is affected by the better organised Varsity
Wanaka - only watched one game and wouldnt say Adam is a standout, seems a good player but wasnt getting good service. Mix of developing youth and older players.
Queenstown - Havent seen them play, seems some old heads in the press articles.
Northern - Another i havent seen play, Luiz flatters to deliver, pleased with the turnround, good people trying hard.
Invercargill, joint teams dont last, clubs like QP or Old Boys are the only ones that could really give it a crack. Waihopai and Southend cannot field DG teams which is sad. Not sure the local football community is getting good value for money from paid employees. Kenny isnt the answer to the question.
Timaru - no reason why they dont have a team. Not sure if FS really have developed and worked with Timaru.
Its a conundrum but havent seen many benefits from the improved SU performance. None of the imports have played locally, usually the local players were either on the bench or subbed.
