Having played for RW and one other against DT and never worn a DT shirt don't see myself being a Culling Park lad.

Oh so did playing in giggle give the lads a better shot at getting 3 points?

Never in my world [or the club I play for] do you play any game when the team travel that long on a bus and you don't go the day before.

Let's deal with some facts.

FBS pitch is being dug up and relaid so not an option.

Tahuna and Memorial were both presented as options by SU to NZF who have both said no for Prem games.

The Caledonian is booked by Athletics.

The only other NZFC/ASB Prem venue in Dunedin is now a pile of dust and rubble.

Rugby Park was the only option.

Anyhow, onto the game today. Southern were desperately unlucky. Dominated, and I mean really dominated the first half. All 4 players on the flanks (McLennan, Howard, Hindson, Ferg) were having strong games and imposing themselves well. Should have scored at least twice, if not 4 times in the first 15 minutes. Conceded 2 very soft goals.

Nix were better in the second half and in particular the last 15, but this is certainly a game that Southern should have won.

Then why is there a game v Wanderers SC scheduled for Mosgiel in March?

Never bothered NZF about Tahuna Park before so why now?

SU need to ask Santa to leave a couple of good defenders in the fridge and leave the beersess alone over Xmas.

How the woeful wee nixs beat you guys sums up the need for the above as does today's result.

Wee nixs could have played till morning milking and still not scored v Canterbury.

What is going on? After such a good start goals are leaking left, right and centre.

From the report it sounds like Tom Batty is keeping the score line down even further..we can't rely on Tom to save us all the time

Sort it out Southern. Please

Either the media in Otago use old photos or Liam has had a make over and got new gloves as well.

I think the guys at the game got the correct player.

How about we ask the man himself?

I think the he'd know whether he did or not.

When you are up 2-1 with 10 to go and lose 6-2, you can't blame the coach for that. Last weeks highlights against ACFC showed they gifted 2 goals (an OG and a howler from a goal kick) and then an unmarked header. Sort that out and you are in the money again. It looks from the outside more like concentration issues than anything.

So you've been in the changing sheds and at training sessions have you Vader?

And you know the team captain won't play anymore under Fridge, right?

No I don't know that. I just go by what I see on the pitch. You have to admit when you are up 2-1 with 10 to go and lose 6-2, that is not the coaches fault.

From the games i've seen, Southern haven't been that bad, they miss Joy at back & Da Costa has been one of the worst players, so no major loss.

Not the coaches fault?  JV it's always the coaches fault.  You are a smart guy so listen up. The mental preparation of a team - is that important? The psychological condition of the players - is that important? The sessions during the week? No need to go on.  They train twice a week ffs. The mood in the camp is shiiite. Everything is shiiite. How can even half decent players perform?

And on that point - news just in. Captain da Costa desires to say farewell to his teammates tonight at training, having quit the team.  So what does Fridge do? He cancels practice and tells the players they are forbidden to speak to Victor!  Haha it's back to the dark ages och aye.

"10 to go and lose 6-2" you can't coach that
