The Board of Southern United is pleased to announce Mike Fridge as the new coach for the ASB Premiership National League team. This is a two year appointment.
Fridge said, “I’m delighted to be appointed to the role as Head Coach for the Southern Franchise. It will be challenging, but a challenge I’m looking forward to”.
Mike Fridge comes to the role with extensive coaching experience, having started his coaching career in Scotland before immigrating to New Zealand and taking the role of Head Coach for the Dunedin Technical FC Club. During Mike’s time at the club Dunedin Technical won the Football South Premiership twice, were runners up four times, and won the South Island Championship twice. In 2008 Fridge lead the Dunedin Technical Team to the final of the Chatham Cup. In 2007/2008 Mike Fridge was also assistant coach to Terry Phelan for the National League team.
The Southern United Board welcomes Mike Fridge to the team and wishes him all the very best for the upcoming season.
