Southern are in for an extremely tough season.
1. They've lost their only goal threat in Jackson and the only other guy with any goal scoring pedigree in the national league left, Coldicott, will likely go down injured after the first round/not make the starting lineup.
2. Franchini is gone and there's no one even close to being able to replace him, Hogan? Really? are you having a giggle?
3. Attwood and McCormick leaving, while not league beaters, will certainly not help with depth.
At least they have a keeper who can keep the score down in Batty, he's going to get a lot more work than any one else in the league.
As of right now (Question marks beside players who may may even choose not to play this year):
Batty
Howard--Joy?--Jude--Ferguson?/Cotter
McClennan--Ridden--Ryder?--Brook/L.Jackson
Stewart--Coldicott?
Bench: Dijsktra, Ferguson/Cotter, Brook/Jackson, Rickerby?, Hayman/Day?/Hogan
Cotter will be lucky to be selected in the squad, let alone starting before Ferguson. Brook could be in?
Cotter is a touch of class! Surely can't be denied a spot in the Southern United team, arguably the best full-back in the league.
