Having been around the scene since around 2005 I know categorically no player has been paid to play in that time - previous to that I can't comment. Not sure about coaches either. Although, as a personal friend of the real 'Hands', I can confirm he has never received a cent for coaching and would be offended at the mere suggestion. In fact, ironically, I'd suggest almost every other club will be paying their coaches currently - definitely Tech and GI. To be clear I'm not suggestion coaches shouldn't be paid either; quite the contrary - they definitely should be remunerated something for their time. The suggestion that recruiting players who move to Dunedin is somehow an unfair advantage? Or akin to bad policy? Are you high? That's half the job of building a successful team. Being able to put it together on a pitch is the other half. Look at mosgiel - they keep telling us how good their outta towners are - which might be true, but can't get it together where it counts. In any case I'm not sure there is one player at Caversham from Chch? Please correct me if that's not the case. As I've said previously, if you lot would stop making excuses and start putting more effort into correcting your deficiencies you might finally win something. Caversham, despite their failings, are clearly performing well above their station; perhaps other clubs may want to try and replicate those aspects they're clearly getting right? Instead of just making up stories about $$ etc to try and help you get to sleep at night.
