It would pretty naive to think that there isn't some money being given to players or at the very least they won't be paying subs and will be getting given club clothing and equipment.
I'm crying... what clubs in Dunedin don't offer their first team free subs?

I highly doubt that Varsity have the financial might to write off $2.5 k from their accounts?
