I don't understand why clubs don't take some money out of the budget they pay the coach and put it towards running a proper social media site - players pictures, lineups etc. - it's not that hard, means a lot to the players and sets a professional standard.
So you're putting your hand up to do it?
Would love to - but i'm not affiliated with any clubs, just an observer (the clue is in the name). I'm just making the point that if facebook pages like Western's in chch could be followed it would be great for the overall exposure of the league down here. There are plenty of passionate fans down here, and club rivalry is very strong (I would argue too strong to be honest) - so why can't someone from each club dedicate a few hours to doing this and be compensated for it as well? Seems a better use of money than paying huge sums to the coaches (and players at some clubs too).
why not do it then?, find a club get involved, no club is going to come and ask you - once you are involved you'll probably start to realise just how much time it takes and as for getting compensated - that would be wonderful - but back in the real word it's probably unlikely to happen and you'll find yourself doing alot more than just social media
Was more of a throwaway comment saying i'd love to - the point was more that more noise should be made in encouraging teams to do things. I have just about enough capability to use YellowFever and scroll Facebook, but my skills run out pretty soon after that.
I understand what you're saying, but it shouldn't be too difficult to organise some form of renumeration - social media presence has a massive effect on how prospective players see teams, and I can't believe it's still such an under-utilised platform. I feel the same about match highlights/full game streams. All games around both Mainland and Southern have cameras recording, but it only seems to be for the teams purpose. Why not stream and let people watch from wherever they want? (I caveat this comment with the confession that once again, I would have no idea how to do this myself - but I still think it's a valid question)
