The best referee in the league is the one down in Invercargill, he's quality along with his lines woman. Don't think they have made a bad call all season

Scott Gannon should be the one getting a disability benefit

Im not 100% sure what the AR was called on Saturday but there was a red card for it. Us Ref's are not paid to Ref we get expenses for time etc. I would love for some people to try and run a line and actually do a good job because it a lot harder than it looks. We're out there for the players to help with the game we're not bad guys.

I'd heard similar. That before the culling of 2 teams was decided that they'd already given them a guarantee of participation.

Mate scraped? 4-1 isn't scrapping it, 3 more wins till championship glory, who cares about tech & cavvy

Cavy won 6-1 and Tech won 12-0...still a three horse race.  Tech's to lose, Horsies and Cavvy's to win.  Queenstown look gone - shame.

Huge congrats to Mosgiel for surviving another season, it's got to be time for either the talent they have to move on or the coaching to change???

new coach is the wee man from GI? he'll suit it out there....right weirdo!

Still think Roslyn will slip up, don't think they have the nouse to coup with the pressure. My pick is Tech to win it.

As for Weeman from GI going to Banjo country can't see that happening, if if left it would be for Roslyn!!!!!!!!

Right it's nearly that time again people lets all name our 25 man Southern united squads! As I know for sure there will be no trials just a naming of Luis's squad of about 25-30 players to be announced in the paper like the good old days. Some one else can go first !

Rooster that wasn't even 11 and u had 2 keepers not even yourself aswell interesting haha. Come on guys 25 man squad lets get the ball rolling . And also Tom Jackson has confirmed he will not be available for southern united as he has too much commitment with his new job. I'd go 3 up top Peter Rae , Coldicott and Hancock ...

My matchday 16 would look like this

Batty
Overmire-Joy-Fernando-Connor
Mepham-Da Costa
Coldicott-Ryder-Stevens,
Jackson

Little, Fitzpatrick, Cameron, Day, Hancock

Yeah but you need two YL players in the match day squad and five overall.  And Stevens is with TW isn't he?  And then ooo said Jackson wasn't available, which is a blow.  A lot of coaches risk a YL keeper on the bench because they don't want to give up an outfield position to a YL player.  It's not a bad idea.  I wouldn't have Connor on the left because I think you really do need a left-footed player.  And with Prattley at Waitak (I guess) and Fergusson out I would go for Mansford although I've no idea how he's been playing this year.  Both Overmire and Fernando at the back is a huge call even though they have some pedigree and have performed OK in the YL and in Dunedin club football.  But the step up is a big one from there - not many coaches would throw two youngish players with zero games in there like that - better to bring them on gradually I reckon.  I'd have them and other young guys on the bench at the start of the season - give them a bit of time and see how they go.  Connor (about 60 games), Joy (about 30 games) and Fitzpatrick (about 20 games), plus one young guy I can stomach at the back. I do like your 4-2-3-1 but I would do it a bit differently.
Batty
Connor Joy Fitzpatrick Mansford
Mepham Cunningham
Ryder Da Costa Coldicott
Hancock
This team has about 280 games combined.
Subs: YL keeper, YL player1, Overmire, Atwood, McCormack
Rest of Squad: YL player2, YL player3, YL player4, Little, Fernando, Day, Rae, Messi (TBC), Neymar (TBC)
