Interesting the talk around the U20 minutes and with ChCh United dropping six points in the Canterbury Premier League due to fielding ineligible player(s).

Likewise in the North Island this season a team in the Chatham Cup going out after winning for doing the same thing, this happens every year in the Cup and in either the Northern or Central League a club fielded too many non- NZ players and the game result ended in a forfeit.

Cannot understand how or why clubs and others, do appear to know or understand the regulations for the various competitions that they play in. All the regs are available online and the higher the level of the competition the bigger the consequences of a beech, i.e. not gaining promotion, ending a cup round with the final just in sight.

Goes to show that what you do 'off the field' is just as (if not more) important than what happens on the field.

Great to see so many u20s get on the pitch for Coastal today.  Good that at least one team is showing you can integrate young talent and still get results.

After Round 13 games have completed mathematically both Nomads and Royals can no longer finish in the top three, joining Selwyn, UC and FC in this stat.

FC have now conceded more goals in the 10 team SL, surpassing Mosgiel's 72 goals in 2022.

In the coming round Cashmere Technical, Coastal Spirit, Christchurch United, Dunedin City Royals, Ferrymead Bays, Nelson Suburbs Nomads and Selwyn will all bring up their 50th SL game under the 10 team 18 game format.

Looking forward to Coastal Spirit vs Chch Utd this weekend - I feel like this and Cashmere Tech's match against Chch Utd in round 18 are potentially where the league could be decided - Chch Utd should be be the hardest remaining match for each of them and if Coastal or Cashmere Tech drop points in those fixtures it'll likely tell us who will be the champ this year

Easy to forget as well that Utd are actually only 3 points behind Coastal, and will overtake them with a win. If they do that and beat Tech in round 18 and win their other 2 games against Selwyn and Nelson, they just need Tech to drop points against one of Uni, Nomads, or Ferrymead in the next three weeks, for Utd to come through and win the league.

Yeah good call, didn't think about that scenario. Potential for an exciting finish to the season!

It would be very close and potentially come down to goal difference - remember Coastal still have a game against FC2011 (Utd already played them twice)
