Southern League Tipping Comp

Kia ora koutou, after a 4 year hiatus we're bringing back the tipping comp for the season. Here's how it works:

1) $10 entry, payable at the end, to the winner. Some nominate charities for it to be paid to, however not compulsory.
2) Entries must be in by kickoff of the first game, and no I don't remind you if you haven't.
3) Everyone hates a quitter, so if you start, stay in for the season.
4) I always pick first, so I don't see your picks, and aren't cheating. I'm happy to show the results page, it's timestamped.
5) It's for fun, however all banter is appreciated and welcomed.
6) I aim to have the results and next round picks up by Monday, however some weekends are bigger than others so it may be a little late.
7) The first week you pick what will happen in week 1, and what the table will be at the end. I add in Chatham Cup rounds on those weekends too.

Hasn't formatted that nicely but this is our pick the winner of the league results. We have 9 players at the moment, will close it off this arvo, all welcome!

So everyone picking FC to 10th. Great pub quiz question in years to come. Who was the team the got relegated from the same league, two seasons on the trot.

Only a suggestion - I wonder if with many quite "predictable" games in the league, it could be worth doing a 3+ win option. i.e. Home wins by 3+, home wins by 1-2, draw, away wins by 1-2, away wins by 3+. Rather than just picking who wins because I'm guessing we all had CU and Coastal wins in Round 1!

But anyway run it however you like of course, I will keep picking regardless 😁

Well done on getting your picks in early, much better than the guy getting the results in. 

For those that love pre-match stats, we've all picked Chch Utd, Nomads and Nelson to win, with most picking Bays, the other 3 picking draws. In the game of the round, half of us pick Cash Tech, 3 pick the draw and 2 great humans picked Coastal.

A very good question, let's go with "after 90 mins" like the TAB does.

Yes that question came up last time. We went with 90mins as otherwise the draw doesn't count. So yer, has to be in normal time, ET doesn't apply.

Yer I went for the South Island League team games instead MiddleofFking Nowhere United vs SistersCousinsWives FC.

Just waiting on CR700 Pounds' picks and we are good to go. 

Interesting set of results meant not many points available. Well done to knowledgeable 5 who tipped Coastal to beat Cashmere (paid $3.40 on Bet365). No one picked FC Nelson or Nomads, and we all picked Bays and Dunedin. So 3 or 2 points were won. Next week's picks are here, and then we are at the halfway point.

We're at the halfway point, and it's a close league with 6 points between top and bottom. I've added another column this week to show if we were handing out points for the final league table, how many you would have got. Well done to Statty who only got 1st and 2nd around the wrong way otherwise would have got max points.

Waimak Reserves vs Bays Reserves, should just be Waimak vs Bays Reserves. 

Waimak Reserves are playing FC Twenty 11, Waimak Reserves should win it, tho the did lose 1-5 to winless Coastal Reserves last week.
