crowds in the old league started dwindling in the late 80's, but they were still bigger than now

i wholeheartedly agree with what hard news has said

if the league is going to get anywhere, it needs to be managed and promoted by the franchises

to be honest, the whole notion of a 'franchise' is flawed.  the term 'franchise' implies that there might be some revenue.  without tv cash, merchandise or gate sales of any significance all we are left with is single team entities that exist for 14 games a year and play in front of no one

Is this an indication you believe a board made up of Say 1 from each franchise and 1 from NZF run the league independently  from NZ Football ?  How was the old National league managed?

yip, that's what i'madvocating

for the main,by NZF.  but they also had a management and promotions company,i believe headed up by one clive herbert help out for a while
