Just out of interest, does anyone know if the home attendances have gone up for Team Wellington United?  I'm just wondering if the Phoenix effect is trickling down to the local level.  If so hurrah for the support and ginger beer all round!

Support must have increased. I never used to go.

if the numbers on the TW website are accurate, there'll be no ginger beer (barring a big upsurge from now on)

first seven home games this season  =total - 5,600

first seven home games last season  =total - 7,100

edit - if you look at the website you'll notice that the numbers look like a bit of a guess by someone, it's possible that this year's 'guesser' is more of a pessimist than last year's

Seems about the same to me from what I've noticed.

Difference is that more of those going now know each other.

Not the biggest crowd at Porirua today, but nice sunny day.

Yoofs won 2-1 in the last seconds, TW 3-0, thanks to a G. Little hat trick.

Canty looked hopeless most of the game as well. In the first half they relied on pumping long balls up to their number 7 but the TW defence had his number and in the second half that deserted that plan and ended up bogged in their own half for all but the last few minutes.

TW look like they are needing to step up to the next level!!!
They have been in crusie mode in recent home matches and their off the ball movement was very poor today. The pace of the match was very pedestrian today but if TW is to challenge the top 2 they will need to create more chances and shoot more effectively on goal.
All in all I think NZFC is a very disappointing comp. Just about fell asleep at todays match.
I think any A-League team would beat the best NZFC team by 3-5 goals easy!!!!

i attended the team wellington game and the first half welly were poor but the 2nd half they were excellent, based on the 1st half alone you wouldnt think that cantebury are bottom of the league but then welly showed their class in the 2nd half, thats the 1st time ive seen team welly this season (as been watching the phoenix) and i will defo be going to future matches, great team.

It is possible to watch them both, you know

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

saw team wellington at newton park on sunday (yesterday), it was a poor game, i dont know if the rain was part of the problem but after that cracking goal they looked good, they need to get their act together or they are gonna struggle to finish top 3. good outfit though, really promising team.
