Anyone else thinking about going up to Palmy to cheer on Team Welly this Sunday? We're seriously considering going up and wonder if we're going have much away support.

I'll be there with a few.

Praps we should take a leaf out of RobbWatsons book and get organised, so if you're going up to support TW pm me your number and I'll coordinate.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

We'll probably arrive at FMG about 30 minutes before kick-off. Is the FMG the one that looks like a velodrome or is that Memorial? We went up to Palmy for the QF a couple of seasons back, but never made any away trips for TW last year. That QF was at a strange ground, which as I say, looked like a velodrome.

What part of the FMG is best for the away fans to congregate? We'll be wearing TW tops so will look out for like-minded supporters up for a chant.

memorial is the velodrome style ground (on the way out of town to Hawkes Bay)

FMG is closer to the centre of town but over the other side (from memory)

Yep.  Memorial has the velodrome and is on the road out of town towards the Manawatu Gorge, FMG has the stock car circuit and is somewhere else (sorry, my Palmy geography aint great...)

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Can't miss the FMG. Go on to Cuba st off Rangitikei st, last intersection before you hit the square. Keep going on Cuba till you see it, you can't miss it. http://www.palmy.net.nz/maps/index.html?code=e51 good map if you need it

The FMG has never really had more than 2 away supporters (for Football at least!) so anywheres fine to sit really. Green frenzy are probably sitting opposite the grandstand on other side of pitch.

Crowds have been crap at home games this season so you can pretty much take your pick where you sit.
Come and sit in the grandstand and stir things up with the locals

Hahaha, theres always been more TW supporters than YHM supporters at all these games. I havent missed one yet, its like a home game for TW.

Okay until a better idea comes along I'm going to suggest that we congregate (Aisle 22 style) above the players' tunnel in the main grandstand.  It's covered and close to the pies for Hard News.

Retro Rickis or something yellow mandatory for TW supporters.

I foresee a rendition of: You'll never be the Fever ;-)

Happy New Year everyone.

Well then you must've been pretty bloody quiet last times you came here!

No wonder, cause last home game vs you guys it was 5 nil to the men in green!

Happy new year to everyone, YHM and TW supporters alike!

You TW supporters keen for a game against the Green Frenzy before the match? I'll have to suss out if anyone on my ends keen first but I'm happy to help organise it if its a popular enough idea.

My bus fares have been booked and paid for, so I'll be there Sunday My bus gets in at ten though so I'll have five hours free.

WillyB - If you're suggesting a pregame kickaround, I'll be keen.

Ill have a kickaround before the game?

I've been to almost every YH home game for 4 years and the biggest amount of away fans I've seen was the TW trip up here for the QF in 2005(?). You guys beat us in extra time, one of the Littles?

Hopefully, as you guys seem pretty organised, you can beat that amount of away support. Hope for some more good weather and a great game!

Good to hear Robb, hopefully something can get organised between now and then with the Frenzy. BTW I'll be the guy with long hair and a Green Frenzy shirt on if anyone sees me at the Phoenix today! Be good to meet some of ya face to face.

Don't think I can face the holiday traffic returning (or being stuck with Junior News bored in the car for the extra couple of hours).

Any other day I'd be there, but I did this last year and it took me an hour to get through the Otaki roundabout alone without the rest.

I hear you news, when I was going up to Phoenix on Friday the traffic jam coming up to that bloody roundabout was bloody awful, they really need to sort out that patch of road.

You're only missing out on a youngheart win though  so maybe it is in your best interests not coming down!

I feel guilty as hell, but I've done Taupo and Napier this week, and have Auckland the following week.

I'm quite enjoying the fact that I don't have to drive 16 hours every few weeks.

Smith reckons that is only his third though... thought the website being unable to spell Quansah correctly was a bad sign.

the ref had a shocker. should have been 8-1

Bad, bad day for YH today. Crap defending for 2 or 3 of the goals. I can think of 3 goals that were well worked...and the own goal/deflection was just pathetic.

Ref was sh*te, one or two offside goals, Vakatalesau had a penalty in the first half and Birch should have been sent off for a headbutt, and there was some rubbish call where one of the TW strikers was hardly touched by the last man, free kick given, and, correct me if I'm wrong, isn't that supposed to be a red? (Stolenkamp's always been a sh*te ref though).

Could have been 2-1 or 1-1 at half time, and maybe YH would have given it a go in the second half. Depressing result, but if the NZFC trophy's not going to be won by us this year, then GO TEAM WELLINGTON, because I wont be able to stand another Auckland win.

Good win Welly, hopefully we will have improved for next time !

I think YH beat Hawkes Bay 9-0 or 9-1 a few years back?

Well that was piss poor.

Joe summed it up fairly well though. The ref is absolutely f**king useless. Never a call in favour of us.

I made the trip up to palmy to see my older brother play for TW youth which was a draw 1-1. Then watched the TW vs YH game and saw that they had a rip off yellow fever supporters shirt which was green and said green frenzy on it and youngheart 6 on the back ohh and a picture of something surrounded with lettering. The ref was getting a hard time from everyone and f**cked up most of his calls. Great game for TW though 8-0 sending the green frenzy packing home. Good day in general
