You going to put on a better display than lasrt match Roy ?

I'm there, along with most of the rest of the exec I suspect.  Probably go to that same top corner of the stand as last time, the end nearest the Heineken lounge.

All encouraged.

Nothing rhymes with Barbarouses...

Someone told me yesterday that the Women's side are playing a league game as the curtain raiser as well.

Anyone able to confirm that ?

Yep, Capital Football are playing Waikato/BOP before the TW/HB match. This is the NWL semi-final. They were really impressive last week against Central. dairyflat2007-11-23 12:13:19
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

TW win 4 -3 and go top of the table after Auck and Ytuk draw.

A dog with a bone :)

Sounded like a good game. TW 3-0 up then HB coming back to 3-3.

Yeah really good game. I missed the first half but got the second, have to say that HB were very unlucky not to come away with a point (based on second half watching). Smith missed a clear opportunity late on, and Jenkins' shot bloody close late on in. Still, a great game to watch on a mint day, well done to TW. Decent crowd too.

ridiculous game! brilliant though. TW nearly blew it, only saved by a screamer from Raf

...as James Dean and Yellow Fury said, you ALWAYS get value for money out of Team Wellington matches.

Thanks to Johnny Gould as well, great spirit and banter with the stands...

Yeah I caught up with Gouldy after the game briefly and said "well done for taking us in the spirit intended" and he was loving us.

Good on him for taking it the right way I reckon.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

That was a laugh!! ... and Father Gould agreed with his son!

"we are top of the league" sounds great!

Bay of Plenty got an NZFC team? :P

The Bay still =  BOP to me. Hard habit to break.

What a great day of football! Excellent result for the women with one heck of an entertaining match, followed by TW taking the top spot!

Yeah, top match. Gutted I missed the girls game and the chance to talk to the Waikato girls. They all looked about my age and very nice looking some of them too......

Robbo rubbed it in my face at one point a little as well.
And encouraged me to "give them something to remember Wellington by."

Wellington were lucky, but they've earned it after their past season's effort.  Plus the pen was a pretty tough call.

Sam Messam was a handfull, and Sean Douglas got on the score sheet.  TW V City Dec 15th.  Should be a blockbuster, need to get a fevezone going!!

Normo's coming home

I understand that r#$%y has no place in YF forums, but after this years sh*thouse showing by the BOP Steamers, and great showing by the Magpies, I think Hawkes Bay has every right to be the 'official' Bay.

Great game- great day- Raf's goal celebration in front of Johnny Gould, turning him puce with rage, was worth the admission price and sunburn alone!

Just a note- my pommie mate reckons that the Disability ramp to the left of the old stand looks a lot like the old standing terraces in English Stadia- a place to stand perhaps?

Although the grass bank has a great view

Yes very good game, us Bay supporters got silencd pretty quick, both by the quick three goals, and also by the Fever guys at the other end of the stand, we were low on numbers though.  It was a great game to watch, great comeback from United and we could have won it as we had a few more good chances after the equalising goal.

Two great free kicks as well.

Hope you Fever guys make it down to the Bay for the return game.

Good on you guys for making the trip, away fans always add a bit of atmosphere which makes the match more fun. I'm planning on repaying the favour

The chanting gets out better if we stand at one end of the stand, the wall pushes the sound out over the ground.

I'll be taking the bus as my car is haunted (and in Tauranga), else I'd offer you a lift. You're certainly welcome to join me on the bus trip of course

A bit belated I know but I have to say a big well done to the boys making the noise down at Newtown Park on Sunday. The Welly boys were vocal and entertaining (too many average chants for my liking, you don't need 20 different ones, just concentrate on 8 good ones!!) and it was great having the Hawkes Bay boys down with thier drum aswell. It's all good for NZ football, creating a bit of culture and banter etc. Keep it up.
