i watched the waikato-canterbry game, and think Canterbry were unlucky not to have drawn it.

Waikato scored three great goals in the first half, but were complete rubbish in the second half. canterbury were chasing shadowns in the first half, but then the waikato midfield did its usual trick of going completely invisible. it should give canterbury some heart, though Waikato badly need some midfielders who can tackle, pass the ball, and still be running after 30 minutes. One final thought, is waikato captain Rob Gill over-rated? he plays some great passes, but apart from penalties he has only scored one goal, he is quite slow and his work rate is pretty low.

I fear waikato will get a hiding from Auckland unless they can get a bit more quality in the midfield.

Totally agree with the midfield being cr ap, play ok going forward but when they have to defend they turn invisible. Sam Wilkinson doesnt get the same roasting as the other players from the coach but apart from the customary crab like movements across midfield and the crap he blames others when he loses the ball, there is nothing to his game.
Felt a little sorry for Joe Edwards who seemed to get blamed for everything.... As for Gill, he has been injured for the last fortnight is a good target man and links in with Holloway and midfield (when they're there) well.
Stu Watene sure looks like he had a good Xmas however he does do the easy things well, Fowler consistent and Scott and Samson i thought were solid.

Cants were the worst side by far i have seen in the first half and as you said bossed the second half....however we will take 3 points and move on, as for auckland who knows
