So I wonder if Jarrod Smith will get the message that no one thinks he is that good anymore other than being a shark stirrer.

first and third goals were directly down to poor play/position from Shelly himself - for the first goal the scorer was Shelly's man and he peeled out and came back in from deep for the set piece and Shelly didn't track him.  The third one (from memory) Shelly went to clear it on the edge of his area, he missed it and then lost track of the ball as the ACFC player picked it up and they scored from that play (can't remember exactly how)

Springs guy was handy, Dylan didn't get much ball and Lovemore was handy chasing down long balls - Midfield was a bit absent i thought.  Coombes to come in next week and add some bite?

Hopefully. Would like to see Nolde starting too. Anyone knows why Robinson dind't play? Is he with the Ferns? Maybe a GK who is available the whole season would be better.

But the problem begins with the signings. Lea'alafa's case is a good example of the great recruitment Tribulietx made for Auckland City, how about Shelley in Waitakere? After the dissolution of the Wanderers I was hoping to see a couple of the U20s getting here but instead they sent them all to the youth team, Judd Baker, Noah Billingsley, Nick Sugden, and even them aren't that great except for Billingsley. I was hoping for Lewis, TAHD, de Jong, Mitchell, but instead ACFC, Canterbury and WaiBOP got most of them. Would really, really like to know how is it that Shelley stills in charge given that he is not capable of getting results.

Thought 4-0 might have been a bit harsh on Waitak - if that shot in the first half had gone rather than hitting the bar then who knows?

Waitak quite a physical side and not sure where their goals wiil come from . I wouldn't have thought Nolde was up to this level ?

Pitch was awful.

The Solomon guy from Auckland (too many vowels in his name to spell correctly) is exciting - everytime he had the ball in the second half when he was nearest the croud , you could feel the croud lean forward  in anticipation.

Be interested to know how it appeared on TV.

Croud guess - maybe 1000 ?

Watching on TV, it looked like Waitakere carried a lot of passengers and were not fit enough. The LB O'Reagan was out of his depth and the number 6 Shaw and 19 Manikim also did little. Mind you, when Waitakere got the ball, they very much went route 1 so its hard to bag the 19 who sat out on the left flank. I'll add that if Brandon Barnes is the best player in the NRFL, then the state of the NRFL is very sad.

ACFC will smoke everyone this year. It also helps when their quota of 8 NZ players (half of the match day squad) 5 are on the bench and there is also Mario Billen and Burfoot sitting idle as imports and Ivan there to come in as well.

Saw Bilen in the grandstand and wondered why he wasn't in the match day squad - forgot totally about the import rules. He didn't look that delighted by the result ?

Agree about the Eastern Subs players in the Waitak side - outstanding in NRFL , ordinary in Premiership.

I think it's a case of Waitak having to rebuild their style and personality again. Almost a new team from last year and for the first 6 games last year they looked lost.  Too many good players to be poor for too long.  Might be light at the back though as I don't rate Shelly.

Agree Chopah.

I think Shelleys best move is to consider coaching full time and do the job justice. That game was the result of his coaching and he was responsible for goals such was his performance. I also question how last years best marksman for them in Bowen is on the bench, also the NRFL golden boot too. That was quite bizarre.

Waitakere will beat the lower sides easy and be more competitive against the TW and CU sides whom perhaps are not of the same quality of ACFC

I was impressed with Bowen when I saw him in the winter league. He's a hustle, bustle tank of a player who looks like he's done bugger all, right up until he tucks the ball away or sets someone up.

Cunningham's good as well, he was ripping up and down the wing at Ngahue Reserve in pre-season - just didn't get the service he needed on Sunday.

Berry was their best player I thought - apart from the keeper.

Bizzard really best two wingers in the league Bowen and Barnes not starting or out of position..

The left back was surely a centre back agree Shelley should not be playing question marks over him as a coach also for me...
