Danny is coach at Glenfield. Perhaps we are talking cross purposes or maybe I have missed a step in here? I thought Allan was at Takapuna as well but when you mentioned Danny paid for him I thought I may have it wrong and he was at Glenfield.

But ill concede on the basis that you're not saying he's a terrible coach just because he is making a step up from girls and being an assistant, and you actually are making that judgement seperately from that. Fair enough.
You probably know more of his coaching ability than I do. The advantage he has is that he has time to improve I suppose. It'll also be a difficult environment for him to step into this season I imagine. It'll be interesting to see how they go under him.

we possibly are - last year and for a couple of seasons before that Danny was at Taka. His last season there (i think), he had Pearce playing for him (along with a few that are now at Glenfield). Previously Pearce was at Suburbs (he got them promoted to Prems in 2011) and now at Kings..

Well, my uncle worked with him too. But actually I haven't given an opinion on him as a coach because I don't think I know enough. I was just pointing out that perhaps writing him off just because he has only coached girls and been an assistant seems a bit premature. JV then said his opinion of him as a coach was exclusive of that, so I was just saying fair enough.
So think that's a little unfair.
They should have gone for Jitka Klimkova. The boys would have liked that.

3: Birkenhead kids asked to trial at Waitak and said no
4: With Temple and Shelley on board, no one wants to play with them
5: McGowan does not have a major sponsor on board
6: McGowan paying himself 100k (from where?) and Paul Smalley to arrive.
7: Bazeley back as an assistant at Waitakere.

Bloody hell. Changes. So they need an asst coach when they have two first team coaches?? Seems strange aswell. Looks like they may have to be humble and go cap in hand to some of the local players and not strut around like they are top dogs and can sign who they want. It's obviously not the case any more.
To my knowledge Birko players haven't been asked to trial... I'm sure temple is looking at some of them along with other's from local team's .. I think that's a good thing and also think he will do well...

yeah i kinda heard that but slightly different - I heard Birko approached WU and said do you want any of the Birko lads and WU said no - having said that I hear from a source close to the team that there is one Birko player signed up (new to Birko this year).
